Our Labour government is also sometimes described as socialist - in fact often disparagingly by critics but I would also agree that it is not socialist by your measure.

@valpyuk @RachelBitecofer Ok, but that’s just definitionally not socialism. It’s capitalism with social welfare benefits. Every industrialized nation has some degree of this.

@RachelBitecofer You're right, it's not strictly 100% socialist. I said it's pretty socialist. Definitely capitalist too but they pay high taxes and have generous public services. Seems to work quite well.

Out in Gorton & Denton today for Angeliki. Seriously, I was super pumped by the response for her and @UKLabour. Really important to cut through the noise that Greens make. The Labour vote is holding strong, and they don’t want a turquoise tory representing them!
