Como is a language learning app that helps you go from conversational to connoisseur by speaking 5 minutes per day with AI. Aside from the brand design, UI, UX and development (with my friend Claude), I spent six month perfecting a complex memory service that analyzes your speaking sessions and tracks your progress through daily statistics and weekly proficiency score report cards. After a few conversations, it can tell you exactly how proficient you are in any language you're trying to learn (currently supporting Spanish, French, Portuguese and English). One designer I looked up to in the past told me to stop designing. I used to send him websites made on Photoshop to see what he thought, and he told me that it might not be for me. But I didn't take it to heart, brushed it off and kept designing, even though he meant it. 15 years later, we're super close, and we laugh about this situation. He said at some point: "Good thing you didn't listen. If you'd stopped, I would've been right. But you didn't stop, you proved it was for you." Indeed, if I had listened to him, I would have never had the career I have right now. Kind of crazy to think that. There's definitely a lesson in there.
