I’m making an early start on next year’s Sharp Practice project. British and French for the Peninsular War. In the past it has helped with my motivation by regularly posting progress. So without further ado, I’ve painted some skin, more tomorrow hopefully. Awful photo.

Off today looking after a poorly 7 year old. What retro 'ill meal / snack' should I make for her? ❤️

@MSduPre67 @Jenny_1884 You stopped watching them in 1969 when George Lazenby (Australian) was cast as James Bond? After 56 years do you still really care that much?

Had some issues with the end rooves, poor design choice on my part, but the dremel and the hot glus gun have almost fixed them. I'll redesign after my holiday.

Hobby story of my life in paints. Sorting them out again with some real oldies in here - over 30 years old! Oh, and some duplicates from a poor memory when buying.

@Clint_Davey1 I feel the same, which is why Tank Duel really surprised me, in a good way. ‘Tactical’ tank combat and no map.

You all know I like simplifying things. But there is a certain level of abstraction that I do not like in wargames. And that is when the game doesn't have a map. I need a map! The physical geography of a conflict is something that should be represented visually.

@Clint_Davey1 And the quality of the components is excellent. I genuinely, felt that the price tag was justified.

@Clint_Davey1 I have a copy and have played it several times with my group. Really good fun, definitely use all the Advanced Rules the Basic game is useful for teaching. Some interesting mechanics. Buy a unit, deploy it a settlement, send it into combat, if it dies, buy another, go again

This game has come to my attention - Burning Banners. It's a thematic fantasy wargame, hex-and-counter but not too grognardy. Anyone have experience with this? Thinking of getting it for my usual Twilight Imperium/Axis and Allies gaming group.

@Clint_Davey1 I’m not entirely sure if this counts, but it is just a really good game.

Christian board games are generally bad for the same reason Christian music, movies, etc are generally bad. Trying to copy the mainstream and slapping on a religious veneer. Just be religious. Use the actual frame of reference of the religion itself, and take the subject matter seriously. Few attempt this.

I've set the table up for a dress rehearsal of the Guns of El Navarrone before we take it once again to the public at Clotted Lard this weekend. I'll be running it in the morning, and @geofftbond will take the afternoon shift. If you're going, I'll see you there #spreadthelard
