A GTA 6 fan’s girlfriend surprised him with $100 because she thought the game comes out tomorrow. Rockstar still has Trailer 2 with the old release date pinned across social media. Rumors aside, it doesn’t make sense for Rockstar to leave all pinned posts with the original release date May 26 after the date passes. Hopefully they update it this Tuesday with GTA 6 Trailer 3 or at least the cover art with the final release date before marketing this summer.

Someone at Rockstar said marketing would begin in the summer. Right now it’s still spring, not summer, and summer doesn’t start for another month. People shouldn’t expect some huge announcement or major development every other day before the end of June. Relax a bit, go outside, and take your mind off the waiting for a while.

Rockstar has a lot going on in the days and weeks to come... GTA 6 Pre orders and Trailer 3? Then the Summer DLC update with a possible return of the boys taking down Faber? Exciting times!

@playb0y4L If we compare VI with R*'s previous titles, they'll probably drop a gameplay video in August/September. Meaning they would have to squeeze in a Trailer 3 and a cover art reveal between then and now.

Someone put together a list of all the Rockstar-related predictions Tom Henderson has missed before, so there’s definitely still room for things to happen next week. The whole “marketing starts in August” thing seems more like his personal expectation than confirmed information. He’s been wrong multiple times about Rockstar’s plans in the past, so I wouldn’t treat it as the final word. At the end of the day, nobody outside Rockstar truly knows their schedule, so there’s still plenty of reason to keep expectations up.
