@shramn_ This is the point - growing up in Mumbai no one halted a celebration to ask "usme anda hai kya" ? If one can't eat, they adjusted The shift from personal food habits to demanding public compliance is EXACTLY what affected Mumbai real cosmopolitanism Mumbai was NEVER like this

Expecting me to justify food to fit your specific bubbles is not my job... Then don't offer just say it contains egg, simple. It won't be offensive. I agree with refusing it politely but it should not be offensive if somebody confirms.
Urban Nietzsche@varun_ashish

@shramn_ Instead of appreciating that gesture, personal anxiety shouldn't overrule basic manners.. I brought a treat out of goodwill..if you suspect it doesn't match with your diet habit just decline politely.. Expecting me to justify food to fit your specific bubbles is not my job

@nisarg22893 @Vidyut But my sensibilities aren't triggered by German sweets.. If anyone has "delicate sensibilities" it's the Mumbai housing societies where a tantrum is thrown and residents are banned over piece of chicken or an egg.. A traveler offering an optional treat wasn't imposing anything

@varun_ashish @Vidyut So according to you, in order not to offend your delicate sensibilities, Jains should consume eggs? Did they try to stop you from having those cakes? If a group of Aghoris invite you to share human flesh with them, will you? If your sensibilities deserve respect, why not theirs?

Urban Nietzsche@varun_ashish

@Vidyut I agree.. As someone who was born and brought up in Mumbai.. Whenever there used to be birthday parties everyone had a great time.. But back in 2017 when I bought sweets / cakes from Europe, some Gujju / Jain people in office asked "if this cake or sweets were eggless"

@Brijdesii @Vidyut Eggless cakes are available everywhere in India in 2026.. But they NEVER existed in Mumbai back in the 1990s.. Not did it exist in the 2000s either This has been "imported" to Mumbai as a recent phenomenon due to growth of Jains That's the point Kolkata doesn't have eggless

@sidharthone @Vidyut Back in the 90s and even in the early 2000s there was NEVER any concept of "eggless cakes" Those things if they ever existed were a minority No shops ever posted "eggless cakes" in Mumbai during that time This phenomenon of "eggless" has been imported to Mumbai Stupid moron

@varun_ashish @Vidyut There are such people as Marathi Jains and many Maharashtrians too are vegetarians. It is hard to find with egg cakes in Mumbai because the demand is much less for obvious reasons - you don’t cut two cakes in any occasion. Stupid moron.

The amount of targeted hate and harassment I have received in past few days just for being Jain is unbelievable and unreal. Can’t believe I am saying this but for the first time even I feel thaf the real minority is so unsafe in this country. This wasn’t the city I grew up in. The divide and rule politics have ruined everything. Hate, views, validation, payout etc have won over humanity.

Jains being a minority is like Israelis being a minority. The numbers are low, but the influence and nuisance value is extremely high. If Marathis in Maharashtra are restricted in their diet inside their own homes and kitchens, businesses must be shut to please you, don't also expect to be liked.

@Vidyut Imagine getting sweets / cakes for people to enjoy.. And rather than appreciating this, Instead they ask "Isme anda hai kya?" It's not a good experience If they have any doubt then they should just stay away.. People who don't give two hoots about egg / eggless would enjoy

@advocateash30 @outofofficedaku Yes the rates are be the same however the rate of approvals for certain countries may be faster.. Like applying for Schengen in Czechia or Latvia may be a faster process without much wait Compared to applying in Germany / France I suspect this particular traveller did this

@Weltschmerz_07 @abkeyh @kiraayedarr Nikita Singhania is not one narrative The Shinde actress was not one narrative One cannot have different standards of justice just because one is male and other is female.. Anyone trying to make excuses for this is advocating special treatment on the basis of gender

Congratulations to the people who trolled this man for 370 Rs, even the show ticket costs more than this amount- He got fired for a Joke, imagine he is dating a beautiful girl, caring for his family, living alone far from his home city. Trolling becomes a masterstroke in the world of fragile male ego and fake feminism.

@DeepikaBhardwaj @TanushreePande Tanushree doesn't want equality between men and women What she REALLY wants is the female gender to take all rights at expense of men.. That's literally the example of special treatment

@Weltschmerz_07 @abkeyh @kiraayedarr Justice is being given depending on whether the culprit is Male or female.. That's the glaring double standards that people are questioning.. When justice is being given depending on male or female.. That's not justice.. That's special treatment

@abkeyh @kiraayedarr No one is asking to support him But we do need to call out the matriarchal double standards here I believe the reason why this incident got people upset in arms is because of the contrast when the culprit is male Vs When the culprit is female

@abkeyh @kiraayedarr Getting sacked for making a joke (even if it's in poor taste) Vs Still retaining employment despite full evidence of abetment to suicide Shows the contrast between the 2 cases where woman is being dealt with more leniently Justice should be gender neutral So should laws

@varun_ashish @kiraayedarr Well that’s not right too. I know that was wrong and she didn’t faced any consequences. But that don’t allow this to be okay. What happened to him was his own fault. Can’t blame the company and people who thrashed him online.

Don’t do this, Deepika, don’t die on this hill. This guy should be fired even if Singhania wasn’t. Singhania should’ve been fired even if this guy weren’t. Sure, it’s unfair that one suffers consequences while others didn’t, but so is being fired from your job for being a piece of shit off-work. So what? Unfair treatment to bad actors should be welcome, not protested.
Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj@DeepikaBhardwaj

This guy has been fired from Job Meanwhile : Nikita Singhania continues to work with Accenture Shilpa Shinde is openly saying Jo ukhaadna hai ukhaad lo Judge Rita Kaushik got promoted Jasleen Kaur is chilling in Canada Hitesha Chandranee has daily brand deals EQUALITY 🤡
