Narendra Modi completes 11 years as Prime Minister, and here are 11 of his spectacular achievements. One: A new doctrine on Pakistan — an act of terror is an act of war. From surgical strikes to Balakot, India called Pakistan’s nuclear bluff and firmly upheld the Indus Water Treaty leverage. Two: Vaccinating over a billion Indians twice within a year, saving millions of lives and proving India’s unmatched ability to mobilize resources. Three: 100 million LPG connections, directly saving 1.5 lakh lives annually by cutting household pollution. Four: Abrogation of Article 370, integrating Kashmir with India and restoring civil rights to Dalits, refugees, women, and many others. Five: The Balakot strike again reaffirmed India’s stand against terrorism. Six: 112 million Swachh Bharat toilets, each saving households nearly ₹50,000 in health costs and restoring dignity. Seven: 370 million Ayushman Bharat health cards, treating more people than the population of the U.K. and reducing poverty by cutting out-of-pocket expenses. Eight: 50,000 km of highways, boosting economic growth. Nine: CAA corrected a historic injustice by granting citizenship to Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians persecuted on the basis of religion in neighbouring countries. Ten: 110 million tap water connections cutting under-five diarrhea deaths by half. Eleven: Air India privatization — a long-awaited reform finally done. Since 2014: GDP per capita has doubled, inflation halved, poverty fell from 29% to 11%, forex rose from $300B to $700B, airports from 74 to 149, metro cities 5 to 20, startups 350 to 1,18,000, electrified rail 21,000 km to 62,000 km, universities doubled, renewable capacity 35 GW to 181 GW, and markets tripled. In 11 years, India has progressed more than in decades before.

A busy life is no life! One of my ex-colleagues (I manage his portfolio) was among the finest employees I worked with. Workaholic. Hard-working. No distractions. Socially awkward, very few friends. No sports, no music, no hobbies. Almost no holidays, and even if he took one, he missed his work more than he enjoyed the break. He thought socialising or taking time off reduced productivity. But today, post-retirement, life has become unbearably difficult for him. • His wife complains: he does nothing. • He gets bored, irritable, restless. • He doesn’t like movies, walks, TV, books, or parks. • Even when kids call him to stay with them — nothing changes. Just the location. Lesson: It’s important to build a life beyond work. Your career may give you money, but hobbies, friendships, and interests give you life. Our kids may support us financially — but they will rarely have the time to live /spend with us. Get real.

Let’s set the record straight: President Trump’s updated H-1B visa requirement applies only to new, prospective petitions that have not yet been filed. Petitions submitted prior to September 21, 2025 are not affected. Any reports claiming otherwise are flat-out wrong and should be ignored.

To be clear: 1.) This is NOT an annual fee. It’s a one-time fee that applies only to the petition. 2.) Those who already hold H-1B visas and are currently outside of the country right now will NOT be charged $100,000 to re-enter. H-1B visa holders can leave and re-enter the country to the same extent as they normally would; whatever ability they have to do that is not impacted by yesterday’s proclamation. 3.) This applies only to new visas, not renewals, and not current visa holders. It will first apply in the next upcoming lottery cycle.

The unethical, shrewd and shameless nature of Pakistanis was always known. They’ll be so stupid, has been realised today. They actually thought that India will go to sleep once we announce ceasefire and then we can attack them. No mercy, no remorse, no pity ! #OpSindoor

This is not the time you halt. We had them on ground with knee on their neck and arm twisted behind their back. We had total air supremacy, had breached their air defence fully, our air defence was almost impregnable, we destroyed their air bases, air defence and terror networks. Now was the time to capitalise !

On April 29th, the INC had demanded that India vote against the IMF loan to Pakistan, which was considered today by its Executive Board. India has only abstained from the vote. The Modi Government has chickened out. A strong NO would have sent a powerful signal.
Jairam Ramesh@Jairam_Ramesh

The IMF has just announced that its Executive Board is meeting on May 9th, 2025 to consider Pakistan's request for a new $1.3 billion loan under the IMF's Resilience and Sustainability Facility. The INC expects India to strongly oppose this assistance.

Mrs pointed I haven’t kept the massage gun back and it’s lying on sofa for two days and I countered you haven’t kept the sitar back to its designated place after practise. Indian politicians have mastered this art. When corruption allegations emerge, leaders skillfully pivot to their rivals' past scams. It's the same psychology at play – dodging accountability by highlighting someone else's flaws. Transforming accountability into an endless game of ‘but what about...’
