Free people in a free country should have full visibility over government spending. The taxpayer is watched. The business owner is audited. The worker is taxed at source. The investor is monitored. But the government takes billions of dollars and spends it through layers of bureaucracy, vague categories, delayed reports, and political spin. That is backwards. If the government takes money from the public, the public should be able to see exactly where it goes. Every contract. Every payment. Every overrun. Every consultant. Every grant. Every budget change. Not hidden in a report released months later. Not buried in jargon. Not disguised behind departments and agencies. Not shielded from the very people forced to fund it. Technology now makes full transparency possible. Government spending should be visible in real time, with a permanent public record that cannot be quietly altered later. Of course there can be narrow exceptions for genuine national security and personal privacy. But outside of that, the default should be sunlight. Because sunlight creates discipline. Visibility creates accountability. And accountability is what keeps power honest. Free people should not be forced to fund a black box. In a free country, the public should be able to inspect every cent.

@Strange_G @saltyreigns They chose not to save it in 2022. It seems the petrol companies 'acquired' our shares in around 1988 under labour gvt. There is no reference I can find that taxpayers got paid back then for their shares. It's been a long term goal by the looks of it

@spidercatnz The thing here is, thousands of us cookers knew this prior to December 2021. We were seeing peer reviewed papers from overseas including Israel stating this, yet our overlords decided to ignore us and the Cvtag advice. We tried to stop it, shouting it out !

Based on the available CVTAG memos, it looks like the first mention to Bloomfield (cc'd on it) about the potential for increased myocarditis risk in people under 30 was June 24, 2021. That was expanded upon and repeated through the year. spidercatnz.com/the-timeline-o…

The data confirms what doctors and scientists have been saying all along — the COVID-19 vaccine is safe & effective during pregnancy, protecting both moms and their babies. But instead of following the facts, @SecKennedy continues to peddle conspiracy theories that put our kids in danger. npr.org/2026/03/25/nx-…

it's very strange that, in the middle of the world's worst energy crisis in half a century, the government's focus is on when the leader of the opposition received a paper about covid vaccine for teenagers - something that has manifestly been not only fine, but a huge positive.

I was born in the early 60s and lived through the 70s of course. I'm 63 now...I always knew that there would be a generation gap as I grew older. But I'm a reasonably intelligent man, try to stay informed, read what I can. I never thought that I would, irrespective of my age, totally fail to understand the world. But here we are.

Does the TVNZ Charter say they must always be nice to National and always nasty to Labour. Just wondering because it certainly seems that way.

Trust Alert: Chris Hipkins would like you to believe that he can’t remember ever getting advice about the danger of COVID-19 and myocarditis. Nor did he ever give health advice, leaving it to the experts. But here he was on the 21st of December, 2021, talking about the death of a young man. This was 12 days after the paper he didn’t read, and three months before the second paper, he can’t remember either. Both papers raised the very matter he talked about, even though he didn’t know about it. See my full speech in Parliament today, linked in the comments.

@verry22971 @winstonpeters Why not? You all got your 80 percent pay subsidy from the crown purse - all the vaccinations were free - all PPE was free - so the compensation should be paid from the same purse.

When are some in the media going to ask Hipkins why he said that he “didn’t see the health advice” on the risks to under 18s for the vaccine, then said he did see it but “it was too late”, then said he would’ve “done things differently” if he had seen it, then is now found to have put out a press release promoting boosters for kids – after he had seen the advice. When are some in the media then going to do their job and ask themselves why have none of the responsible ministers told the inquiry they saw the advice – when it is evidenced now that all of them did. When are some in the media going to figure out that the reason why Hipkins and the other ministers didn’t want to give evidence publicly is so they couldn’t be asked all of these important questions under a spotlight publicly. This question about getting the advice from officials wasn’t put to him without notice. This was part of the inquiry, he had time, he had information, and he had the understanding of how important this question was. He still said no. They all still said no. They all instead reverted to hiding behind a keyboard being filtered by his lawyers. We were the first to show evidence in the House that they were aware of it but never shared it with the public and even continued the mandates - and in the House during question time we said that there was more coming. The March 2022 Cabinet paper, in his name, proves that he did know and that other ministers knew – and there will be even more evidence to come. It is an outrageous situation where one hundred thousand children were exposed to the known risks of having two vaccine doses yet the public, and more importantly the parents, were not told. Hipkins says the advice “came too late" – but when he received that advice there were still 30,000 kids who only had the one shot. Too late for who? It is alarming that the Inquiry did not come to this obvious and provable conclusion but instead relied upon his denials. This was an inquiry that was originally set up by Labour themselves, with inadequate terms of reference, and hand-picked people on it. How can it be that this second phase of the inquiry did not pick these important documents up when we and some journalists did. Its time the rest woke up, took their rose-tinted lenses off, and stopped believing everything that comes out of Hipkins’ mouth. To attempt to deny these facts publicly, and rely on the inept Inquiry report, points to this being a disgraceful cover up as it now seems to be.

@winstonpeters WE NEED WINSTON TO TURN HIS ATTENTION TO THE PFIZER CONTRACT. Pronto. As Reiner used to say - the contract is voided if it's fraudulent. The contract is the issue here. It's why hipkins needed legal advice regarding talking to the inquiry.

Chris Hipkins fails to provide a clear answer to a very straight forward question from Ryan Bridge: Did "you know at any point there was a risk to young people from a second jab, or was the first time you learnt of that information on the day you removed the mandate?

To hear Michael Laws’ anger and outrage on @theplatform_nz over the deliberate obfuscation by Labour Ministers and Health officials of the information relating to the Pfizer mRNA vaccine risks to under 18 year olds is sad. He admitted that his son had suffered from heart palpitations following his second vaccination. EVERY single parent in this country should be furious and outraged. They deliberately chose the achievement of higher national mass vaccination numbers over, at best, providing accurate advice and the opportunity to apply informed consent, and at worst, putting the permanent health of children and young people’s hearts at risk. Let that sink in. I have a question; did any of Ashley Bloomfield’s 3 children receive the vaccine? In particular, his then 17 and 20 year old sons.

it's weird to see the Nats desperately cuddling up to anti vax weirdos. do they think parents are going to be mad at Hipkins for getting vaxs for our kids? I wish my kids could get boosters to help protect them from catching COVID at school.

Just clipped some footage from the Super Saturday Vaxathon from back in 2021. It's beyond me how anyone watched Ashley Bloomfield dancing like an absolute retard and thought 'OMG he's convinced me to get the "safe and effective" vaccine'. #nzpol
