The trope is that men never want commitment until women cajole them into it (ball and chain). *Some* women are flattered by their ability to cajole a man into committing to them, it speaks to how persuasive they are, so they enjoy the trope. Whole thing is nuts to me 😂.

If a bride rolled her eyes, gagged, and joked she’d been whinged at or nagged into marriage in her vows, the whole wedding would gasp. She’d be read as abusive. When grooms do it, it’s called banter. She’s supposed to just take it. That double standard tells you everything.
