What's happened in the last couple of months has changed my life. After leaving @StrideHealth, I set out to explore "AI x healthcare" to see where I could make positive change. I’m someone who enjoyed great healthcare back in Europe where I grew up. I also believe the US is great but deeply flawed in that aspect. This is personal, and I want to help fix it. But boy, did I get into a rabbit hole. The more physicians I interviewed, the more I felt they needed something upstream of AI gizmos. Medicine isn't the great career it used to be, and the barrier of entry for striking it on your own is too damn high. This resonates – I worked for 5+ years making sure independent workers could lead decent lives while preserving that autonomy at Stride. The more patients I spoke to, the more I discovered a hush-hush, word-of-mouth world about GREAT healthcare in this country. Do you have anyone you can call your doctor? Anyone who's there for the long run, who is the quarterback for your care, and who sees you through all stages of your life? Some people have that, and it's just nuts that most of us don't. And what I believe is we can have our cake and eat it: - Concierge level of care for the masses, driven by tech and AI. A precise, data-driven, preventative approach to medicine that honors the core patient-doctor relationship. - For doctors, the ability to provide care on your terms, owning your life's work. Our healthcare system is designed for precisely the opposite. Sickcare in the case of traditional fee-for-service, or a complex, easy-to-get-wrong bureaucracy in value-based care. Can we streamline this mess and honor that core, human, patient-doctor relationship? And also – are there any other folks who share that vision? As a matter of cosmic coincidence, I met a deep, clear thinker, a go-getter, and a wonderful human. I met @sunitasmohanty. We were both shocked by how aligned we were in our intuitions and how good a team we made. We met in person in San Francisco last week, which sealed the deal. We're starting Vibrant @vibrantprac as our vehicle to help doctors launch, operate, and grow their own concierge private practices. As a doctor, you just have to care for your patients. We take care of the rest. We're building something special at Vibrant. Stay tuned!
