@TheOfficialJVS Sending lots of love at this difficult time. I have no grandparents left and sadly my dad is terminally ill with leukaemia so I feel your pain🙏🏻

My grandparents have supported and shaped me throughout my life. Sadly my last remaining grandmother, Betty Green died this afternoon aged 95. She was the strongest, most principled person I have ever met. My feistiness is entirely down to her. I will miss her forever!

If you are wondering why we are striking. This is my payslip right at the very end of my second year as a doctor.

@JaxCrozier @Dr_DeanS I take it you’re not in pain and awaiting surgery to return to a normal working life so you can afford the increased cost of living?????!!😡. That comment was nasty

@calow_dawn @Dr_DeanS I would if I could but I can’t afford it as my income has reduced due to my incapacity to work as many hours as I used to. I can’t strike..I’m self employed!!

@deadkestrel @Dr_DeanS Didn’t say it was his fault. I just know I had surgery dates twice that were cancelled due to the strikes. I do hope they get what they deserve so that I get my treatment from a Severn dr on deserved wages

@Shadow_Man_71 @Dr_DeanS I’ve already lost thousands of pounds with the reduced ability to work due to the wait for my surgery…

@vickimoses @Dr_DeanS We are all waiting for surgery. I can barely walk but they deserve more. I worked in the NHS as an appointments clerk part time and took home £1000. They deserve every penny. Keep voting Tory and when you have to pay for everything you will wish they had been paid more.

@jjreidart @Dr_DeanS I’m so sorry to hear that. We just have to accept things one day at a time and pray that the government do right by our drs and nhs to make things better🙏🏻

@vickimoses @Dr_DeanS Sorry to hear of your predicament Vickie. For myself, gov cutbacks removed funding for both the surgery and medication I need. I am left on heavy duty painkillers and reduced life expectancy - doctors didn't cause this, politicians looking after vested interests did.

@vickimoses @Dr_DeanS And will have it cancelled for another four times if we keep driving doctors away from the public sector with chronic underfunding and overworking. The strikes are a glimpse of what will be the norm if you're not lucky enough to have private medical insurance if this continues.

@MotorclaimGuru @Dr_DeanS Perhaps if we had an opt out alternative I would consider private treatment. I hope you don’t need treatment soon and have to suffer as I have

@Dr_DeanS My surgery has been cancelled twice due to the strikes so please don’t tell me the strikes don’t have an affect

@vickimoses I understand this frustration and sorry this has happened to you. But these delays are there with out the strikes, as seen with the 2.5 year wait. The strikes are not the cause. The chronic underfunding is.

@vickimoses @Dr_DeanS It is not the fault of junior doctors - can’t you see that? It is a lack of spend, doctors, ageing population with more medical needs - we need to keep our doctors and won’t on these salaries. As a patient you have been waiting 21/2 years and yet the strikes are only this week?
