I want to take a moment here to praise the future of our party @KnowaWasTaken because the way some people are treating him is absolutely disgusting I spent time with Knowa at #DNC & saw him interacting with adults up close. He was there because he wanted to be there & he used his time & access very wisely. This young king knew EVERYONE we saw, calling out hellos to members of Congress, state Reps, & influencers all by name Knowa tipped me off to let me know that Tim Walz was going to be speaking in one of the conference rooms & I ended up just feet away from him I met Knowa’s mom & while she has no interest in sharing his spotlight, she’s great & fully supports him. He brought me into one of the influencer lounges& I got to meet a lot of people that I’ve only known online. Knowa is incredibly generous & sweet & never once seemed to be overwhelmed despite the crowds & all of the cameras that seemed to be in his face all the time I was with Knowa right after he recorded the moment that went viral when he shut down Mustache-less Mike Lindell & then I got to yell at Qrazy Pillow on camera for bullying a child (I’m also pretty sure Lindell gave me Covid, but I can’t prove that) What I saw & heard was what @rolandsmartin saw & heard: a smart young man who’s concerned about the future of his country & is doing something about it now. He’s more informed than most Republicans in Congress & brings receipts If Knowa didn’t want to be doing this, he wouldn’t be. He told me that he got involved in politics because of @staceyabrams & I could see the joy in his face when he got to meet all of these amazing people. I watched him hold his own with @CornelWest even if he didn’t get his questions answered. By the final night, everybody knew who he was everywhere we went Knowa is a bright light & hopefully will influence other young people to start using their voices now. If you’re bullying a child for doing something they enjoy, or because you’re jealous that they get to do stuff you don’t get to do, you’re the one who needs to grow up Knowa, it’s like I told you back in Chicago: I can’t wait to see what you do next & I can’t wait to vote for you someday ❤️
