@coconservative7 @JohnPiper And Mark Driscoll. And Jason Meyer, who was his successor in the pulpit, then he left Bethlehem Baptist, and was revealed to be a full-blown egalitarian. His discernment has always been really troubling.

We are too quick to forget - @JohnPiper has platformed Rick Warren. He's partnered with Ann Voskamp, Beth Moore, Christine Caine, to name a few. For all of his commendable theology, he can't discern his way out of a wet paper bag. Why? One word: Charismaticism.

Good grief. Sojourners in the OT were subject to the same laws as Israel (read through Numbers 15). If a foreigner comes into another country illegally, he has, by definition, broken established laws. And what this has to do with spiritual bondage pre-regeneration, I am not sure.

I still remember when Piper said armed defense was unrighteous. Wouldn’t defend his wife from a thug. And even calling the cops could reveal a disordered heart.

Not every stranger who comes to your country is a Sojourner. Some respect our system of laws and come to be a blessing to their host nation. To work hard and raise strong families.
But some come illegally. And they do not come to work hard. Some come to live off the system, and to exploit the generosity of their host nation. Others come to engage in destructive practices that harm the citizens of the host nation.
Biblical wisdom requires us to discern the difference.

@Pastor_Gabe What you’re saying is true pastor Gabe. However, there are also plenty of Bible verses that exhort believers to “keep” the faith, we don’t wanna deny there is a Spirit-empowered-effort that Christians must exert to persevere in the faith. Right?

The doctrine of the preservation or perseverance of the saints is that God keeps us to the end, not that we work to keep ourselves. It is His gracious work, not ours.
See John 10:28-29, Romans 8:38-39, Ephesians 1:13-14, Philippians 1:6, 1 Peter 1:5, and Jude 24, for examples.

Sam Storms was dishonest in his 13-page letter to me. I believe this video clearly lays it out. This has nothing to do with my theological differences with Charismatics; I simply don't believe Storms is completely honest.
