My grandmother, Usha Datar's short story Kaaksparsha translated brilliantly by @tarj_uma, which was originally written in Marathi and later turned into a Mahesh Manjrekar film. She was a renowned Marathi fiction author. Hopefully we can do the same for the hundreds of other stories she has written through her life. Kaaksparsha is the story of a young widow and rigid social customs, which was way ahead of its time before women's rights and empowerment were even a subject. In post-Vedic Hindu mythology, the Moon/Chandra (or Soma) has been given the title of the lord of the constellations. All 27 Nakshatras (constellations) are said to be his wives, but according to Puranic stories, he neglected 26 of them and favored only Rohini. The other daughters pleaded with their father to intervene, so he cursed the Moon to lose his light. To lift the curse, Chandra performed penance to Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva did not completely remove the curse of Daksha Prajapati, but granted that the Moon would regain its light day by day, eventually becoming full, and then lose it again gradually. Lord Shiva was also given the title ‘Somanath’ (Lord of the Moon), and is believed to have manifested there in the form of a Shivalinga, located in the Kathiawar Peninsula of Gujarat. I consider this a metaphorical explanation for the lunar cycle.

I wanted to use an Apify actor but it was under maintenance. Kinda urgent, so I figured out the API call. Bypassed the site's DevTools detection by undocking the console, intercepted the API, and scripted a custom paginated export. It worked. Then I thought.. What if I make my own scraper? Rewrote the logic to work as a standalone Actor so it's fully automated. Built it with Claude Code in 4 hours. 😅 Insane things are happening.

I'd totally call myself gōpālakrušnuḍu/gōpālakrušna in Telugu/Kannada too. Everyone should do that

I am at my home. Me and my little brother are struggling to get very decent Internet. I recharged non-stop plans and my brother has a super-hero plan. What's the real issue we are facing is 20% time we got good internet and 80% of the time is worse than 2G speed. There are two networks in my Area. And if I call out @ViCustomerCare then they need my data and they can't do it anonymously. My little brother's exam is near and this f*cking IP make it harder. So, thankfully Dad recharged the Jio unlimited 5G plan where 5G works as expected speed without any break. If they don't fix this issue then me and my brother will switch to Jio.

Not a rage bait, but Mango Milk Shake is one of the worst inventions and foods. Specially, the ones you get in your neighbouring store -- with too much sugar and very little aam. Er, not a fan of milk shakes. (Protein shakes, fine.)
