@Hyperbaly @BBGreatMoments You can only compare people by the era that they played. Ruth revolutionized baseball. Before Babe Ruth, Roger Connor held the career record with 138 home runs. Ruth broke it by 576 home runs. Aaron broke the record by 41 home runs.
English

@BBGreatMoments Why is the media keep making stuff up? Babe Ruth bat was not better than Hank Aaron. Aaron played against major league players Ruth plumbers and fireman. Aaron has more hits home runs RBIs runs against better competition.
English

@60_anthonyd @BBGreatMoments He played left field but Hank Aaron was primarily a right fielder (RF). Career games by position:
* Right field: 2,174 games
* Left field: 315 games
English

@BBGreatMoments Oh... One more - Hank Aaron played LF.. so rethink your list

@parlance2025 @mazemoore “Let us prioritize solutions over past rhetoric.”What is your solution?
English

@mazemoore It is common to see politicians evolve as challenges change, but characterizing policy shifts as proof of bad faith oversimplifies a complex reality. Focusing on border security and fair application of law is essential. Let us prioritize solutions over past rhetoric.

2009. Chuck Schumer gives one of the strongest speeches against illegal immigration ever given by a politician, from either side of the aisle.
This speech is mind-blowing. Hearing Schumer now insult ICE and Border Patrol and advocate for illegal immigrants, it's hard to believe that this video is real but it is.
Virtually every word of his 30 minute speech was about the need to curb illegal immigration. Schumer hit on everything from border security to biometric verification systems.
Schumer was not alone back then. Obama, Biden, and Hillary all took similar stances against illegal immigration during their campaigns for the 2008 Presidential election.
The Democrat party has moved so far left on immigration that by 2021, a Democrat President had effectively opened the border and ended deportations. The party just keeps moving further left on immigration. Democrat politicians now regularly incite violence against ICE by calling them nazis and gestapo.

@Varneyco It is six months to the election - not seven. And Vivek Ramaswamy is running for governor - not senator.

@Catholic_bro The 1997 Vatican document (On Certain Questions Regarding the Collaboration of the Non-Ordained Faithful in the Sacred Ministry of Priests), states that non-ordained faithful (including deacons in this context) should not use gestures or actions proper to the priest celebrant.

@Catholic_bro The only good thing that came out of Covid was that many people stopped holding hands during the Our Father and most people stopped shaking hands during the sign of peace!

@NBCNews Why don’t you get Elizabeth Warren and Merrick Garland on tv to discuss their role in blocking the Jet Blue Spirit merger? Warren loves going on television.
English

@SenWarren The judge didn’t bring the lawsuit. The Biden administration brought the lawsuit. You called it a Biden win back then - not a Reagan win. And Spirit was in bankruptcy before the war in Iran.

@ffweekend That was an English cocker spaniel which is a different breed than an American cocker spaniel. Charlie was right.

@thenovelninja @DudespostingWs That was 23 years after the incident.

Some clarifications and additional information:
Captain McVay committed suicide in 1968, 13 years after the incident. He was 70.
Hunter Scott was born in 1985. In 1996, age 11 and in sixth grade, he submitted a National History Day project on the USS Indianapolis which got significant attention, including a 1998 House resolution honoring his efforts.
It was a year after that, on September 14th, 1999, that 14-year-old Hunter Scott testified before the US Senate, alongside survivors of the USS Indianapolis.
A year later, in October 2000, a resolution exonerating Captain McVay was passed, with a provision inserted into the National Defense Authorization Act. This was signed by President Clinton on October 30th, 2000.
SecNav England ordered that the exact text of the Congressional resolution be inserted into Captain McVay's official service record on July 11th, 2001. This took place 56 years after the incident, 43 years since McVay's death; but McVay's children witnessed it.
Hunter Scott graduated high school in 2003 and went on to attend the University of North Carolina on an Navy ROTC scholarship. He was commissioned as an officer in 2007, and went on to become a Seahawk helicopter pilot and, later, Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
According to current records, Commander Hunter Scott is still commissioned and active, and still speaks publicly about the USS Indianapolis and Captain McVay.

This is actually kinda insane
In 1996, a 14-year-old kid watched Jaws and got obsessed with Quint’s WWII monologue.
He then began researching the 1945 sinking of the USS Indianapolis, interviewed around 150 survivors, and reviewed 800 documents. His research focused on the role of the ship’s captain, Charles B. McVay III, who had been court-martialed after the incident. He came to believe that Captain Charles Butler McVay III, who had been blamed for the tragedy, was innocent.
The 14-year-old, Hunter Scott, presented his findings to the United States Congress at age 14. In 2000, Congress passed a resolution clearing Captain McVay’s name, and the U.S. Navy later formally exonerated him.
