John Sterling is as much a part of the fabric of the New York Yankees organization as any player. It was an honor to have him call every one of my games during my career and an absolute pleasure to get to know him on a personal basis. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

@RealMichaelKay Michael, can you share this for a fellow Fordham graduate, a lifelong Yankees fan, a good man, and a good priest?

@YankeeLibrarian Yup. Rice plays every day, either at 1B or DH. Goldschmidt against lefties, Dominguez against righties.

@baseballinpix Everyone forgets about Bernie, who was every bit as valuable as those four.

@JackCurryYES Nice. I remember it was Bush, David Wells, and Graeme Lloyd for Clemens.

I enjoyed interviewing the affable Homer Bush. We talked about the 1998 Yankees, the wisdom of Joe Torre, Homer, Jr (his son at AAA for the Rays) and even Lil Baby. Check it out.
