@JamaicaGleaner Human rights groups always seem to show up to help criminals, but are nowhere to be found when criminals kill innocent ppl. I do agree with the bodycams, though
Human Rights Group Jamaicans For Justice is again calling for the mandatory use of body-worn cameras by police officers following Sunday’s fatal shooting of 45-year-old Latoya Bulgin during a protest in Granville, St James. #GleanerMinute
@JamaicaGleaner It’s always interesting how we dwell heavily on what we lack and bemoan the social spending deficit. Which is true, legitimate and fair to lament. No shade there. However, what of our productivity? Are we generating enough national revenue to afford the social spending we desire?
Despite Jamaica’s economic progress, successive generations have failed to implement the social reforms needed to improve the lives of all Jamaicans, businessman Howard Mitchell has asserted.

@tallman0071@JamaicaObserver It's like you and someone arguing, and you have a gun, and you see him dipping in his waistband, and you shoot him. Then you find out he reached for his phone, and people from the outside are saying you should have waited for him to pull what he had before you shoot, that's dumb
@tallman0071@JamaicaObserver In your opinion, does she get shot if she complies with the police? Ppl are acting as if she has zero blame in this interaction. If he thinks his life is in danger at that time, I 100% support his decision.

@JamaicaGleaner Instead of everyone working together to solve the issue affecting the country, it's just a game of one-upsmanship and casting. Sometimes I wonder if these people are adults and not childen.
Minister with responsibility for works, Robert Morgan has accused Mayor of Kingston Andrew Swaby of attempting to "pass the buck" in relation to road maintenance in his recent criticism of the One Road Authority.

@dentona22@BigMeeish@jonahhhhthegoat@1jaayy__ You're using hindsight to justify a position on an event that happened in a split second from a vantage point the police didn't have. There is a massive difference between being in front of a vehicle when it's driving at you vs. watching it on camera
@dentona22@BigMeeish@jonahhhhthegoat@1jaayy__ Context is key. I brought up your interpretation of human capabilities, not decision-making, which are completely different. You're saying that within a split second, he should be able to do all these things. I am saying being a human being has nothing to do with not complying
@dentona22@BigMeeish@jonahhhhthegoat@1jaayy__ What does being a human have to do with this? Comply with law enforcement, and none of this would have happened. You're just using hindsight bias from a completely different angle to moral grandstand to seem like you're on the right side.
@vinesti1@BigMeeish@jonahhhhthegoat@1jaayy__ Man move wid yu silly excuses. There is no reason for the police to shoot her there. None. The police is human and the woman is human, he must be held accountable for his actions.
@dentona22@vinesti1@jonahhhhthegoat@1jaayy__ Go stand 3-4 feet in front of a vehicle especially one with a bonnet above your center of gravity and tell me how much attention you’re paying to the orientation of the wheel.
Do that little experiment and tell me if it changes your perspective at all.
@Shininglightja@JamaicaGleaner lol ok john wick. Instead of complying with the police and going about your business, once they are finished. You think disobeying, then driving off in their general direction, is the rational "common sense" approach in your book?🤦♂️
@vinesti1@JamaicaGleaner An IQ above 70 would've decided that it would have been smarter to just step aside instead of committing murder. Intelligence doesn't mean common sense and that's why we have educated fools.
A woman was allegedly shot and killed by the police in Granville, St James, Sunday afternoon, during a protest to highlight an incident in which a 17-year-old boy was killed a week ago in another shooting incident involving the police.

@jonahhhhthegoat@BigMeeish@1jaayy__@dentona22 So in your head, he should wait until the car gets up to speed before he reacts. I don't know if you know, but cars can accelerate quickly from a stationary position. When it's not your life at risk, you can always have a think piece about what someone should have done
@vinesti1@BigMeeish@1jaayy__@dentona22 her car wasn’t even a danger to him because it didn’t even have speed. it moved slightly to turn. if his first instinct was to cause harm instead of moving, then he’s obviously trigger happy and needs to be fired and charged. this is why jamaica can’t get better
@RenairB@likle_wiked@Nyamsome@JamaicaGleaner I'm not admitting anything. I answered a very specific question. I am supportive of any lawful action that is effective in reducing the crime rate.
@vinesti1@likle_wiked@Nyamsome@JamaicaGleaner So you are admitting that the new crime strategy is extrajudicial killings, replacing the failed SOEs, and we do have death squads within the JCF
The High Command of the Jamaica Constabulary Force has ordered the immediate interdiction of the policeman involved in Sunday afternoon's fatal shooting of a woman in Granville, St James.

@likle_wiked@Nyamsome@RenairB@JamaicaGleaner We know this because we see the second-order effects, such as lower crime rate. If innocent ppl were the majority, we would see little to no effect on these metrics
@likle_wiked@JamaicaGleaner@JamaicaPNP@MarkJGolding It might not be appropriate but similar words were said by our PM several years ago, “if you vote for the PNP, you could end up being killed” (not the exact quote)
@JamaicaObserver Yes, we know that in real time u have to make a split-second decision but the video doesn't show any danger. She didn't even pull off like she was going to run u over. Can cover up this one
@Shininglightja@JamaicaGleaner Ppl in the upper echelon have an IQ above 70, so they wouldn't attempt to drive off with an officer in front of their vehicle.
@JamaicaGleaner Ja's police are out of control. They just blatantly and wantonly kill without impunity. They target only poor communities when the upper echelon of society are just as culpable in criminality. The people need to rise up against the government, who think they're gods above all.
@Marie24Dee@JamaicaGleaner No, it won't be. All I would need is one brain cell to know not to drive off with a police officer standing in front of the vehicle.
@BigMeeish@1jaayy__@dentona22 I agree. There are too many low IQ emotional thinkers in Jamaica. In no country can you attempt to drive off with an officer in front of your vehicle and not get shot. The police get put in harm's way every day, where a spilt sec decision can cost them their lives.
@1jaayy__@dentona22 If you’re standing this close to and from this vantage in front of a voxy it’s hard to discern which direction the wheels are pointing.
