@runthinkwrite @LeonaAngelaVII Love this argument. 'If men take drugs that make them more rubbish at sport they should be able to compete against those women types. How much of those drugs and for what period of time we can't specify but we could maybe guess and also we don't want tests for who is a man'.

@LeonaAngelaVII Why do you think eligibility into the female category should be determined by performance metrics? Rather than, you know, by being female?

The notion that a trans woman can play on a sports team with biological men is idiotic. The same goes for a trans man. Cross-sex hormones result in opposite-gender performance metrics, at least to a fair degree.

@AriDrennen Let me clarify: if he takes testosterone, he’s at an unfair advantage with the other female soccer players. So no, I’m not saying this is ethical.

Nobody owes her a living. If she's spouts bigotry, people who are affected can choose to stop buying her music. Which they did. She's free to be a bigot. Her former fans are free to cancel her. Free speech can have consequences.

Róisín Murphy was cancelled in 2023 after sharing her views about the effects of puberty blockers on children on her personal Facebook page. Last week, @roisinmurphy spoke in Parliament about her experience of cancellation and the negative impact it is having on the arts. She said: “The creative soul of this country ... has always thrived on discomfort, on the freedom to be wrong, to offend, to pivot and to surprise ourselves. “Without that freedom, we don’t get better art, we simply put artists into a chokehold and suffocate the life out of our culture. We need free, equal and open debate. The arts must breathe freely again.” Murphy argued that public funding of the arts supports those who agree with prevailing orthodoxies rather than dissenting voices. This, she said, has led to self-censorship among artists and damaged British culture. Read more below @Freedom_in_Arts 👇

Please listen! 👇 I’ve written to @BBCRadio4’s You & Yours about this.👇Parkrun collects NO sex data so they cannot measure how many women are doing what, and claims like Duggan’s are meaningless. No challenge from presenter Winifred Robinson. #makeparkrunfairforall

CEO of @parkrunUK, Lil Duggan, was on @BBCRadio4 claiming a real success in increasing the participation of women, “Parkrun is really proud we have almost parity of genders” Parkrun’s self-ID policy allows any male to register in the ‘female’ category; invalidating their claims

@DuncanHenry78 When the brain is under stress with no apparent cause(mental illness)it can fixate on anything to attach that to. Some people become upset about microbes. If gender dysphoria exists that's the best explanation. The right approach is to reassure the person that things are okay.

To the people replying to me saying I don’t understand “gender dysphoria” Actually I do. The wording is quite useful. Not good, useful. It means distress at being the sex you are. Basically. So some people are distressed that they are the sex… they are. No further understanding is necessary to argue that no matter how much a person desires to not be the sex they are… they are. And no amount of distress, threats, or foot stamping gives a single person the right to be disguised as the opposite sex, or pretend to be the opposite sex (or god forbid, no sex 🙄) You are what you are. Nothing can change that and *you are not entitled to have the rest of the world pretend you are something you’re not*. Being even more distressed - an infinite amount of distress - does not change that. The answer is no. And if people had said that *to start with* then none of this would have happened. And plenty of the “distress” is amplified *because people keep allowing some people special privileges* It contributes massively to the “dysphoria” People need to be kind - and say NO. I wish people in distress would get the right therapy. One that starts with “so the one thing that is not happening is disguising you as something you’re not”. Only when that’s properly taken off the table can work begin.
Duncan@DuncanHenry78

I watched him say “I felt trapped in my body” and then the realisation came to me. He’s still in his body. He looks the same. Except now boobs. Therefore “I felt trapped in my body” appears to mean “I wanted boobs”

@isherphi1980 @DisaffectedPod I don't think anything less than video footage would convince you and then you would probably say it was fake. He was a grown man who managed a very successful career. He faked a marriage. Had 3 kids. He wasn't learning disabled, all of that 'he is a child' is spin.

My "take" on Michael Jackson. Be warned that you'll find this disturbing because it's not black and white how you'd like it to be: -I'm not sure whether he actually molested any boys -His practice of having children in his bedroom, or sleeping with them, was unacceptable and creepy EVEN IF there was no direct sexual fondling -The kinds of mothers who put their children in his orbit are child abusers themselves. Washed up star fuckers who pimp their children (even if not directly sexually) -Jackson was extraordinarily psychiatrically troubled. Common outcome from his extremely abusive home -He was one the most charismatic and talented performers ever seen in the era of electronic communication and popular music and video. -J

@isherphi1980 @DisaffectedPod MJ was a grown man. The maid testified that she saw him naked in the shower with a male child. Boys claimed the same patterns of abuse without knowing each other. You can discount all of this of course I just think he is most likely a prolific paedophile but I am not the jury.

Yeah.. So when I was 10,my buddies and I would pass around a Playboy if we got a hold of one. Michael had the mentality of a 10 yr old. In my opinion, Michael wanted to appear hip and cool to his "peers". He lived a sheltered life. He was probably shown a Playboy at age 10 by his brothers,so theres that. Not making excuses. He was fucked up mentally.

@isherphi1980 @DisaffectedPod So how do you account for the fact that there was pornography in his room that some children said he gave them to look at? It has his and the children's fingerprints on it. And where were the women he was womanising sleeping when his bed was full of kids?

@DisaffectedPod Agreed. If anything he was asexual. I believe many tenors from the 18th century were castrated. Michael was emotionally castrated in my opinion. Never allowed to reach sexual maturity because of abuse and pressure. A perpetual 10 yr old.

@RayAlexWilliams Why are you not asking if there can be an additional definition to 'man' instead, if you think that would be useful?

The question, “What is a woman?” admits several layers of analysis: First, collectively, how do we define the English term, “woman,” in various social and legal contexts? Notice this is not strictly a scientific question. Science uses validated constructs like “female/male” to study empirical reality with collective and public operational definitions i.e. scientists for the most part know how to measure femaleness/maleness in validated methods. But notice the first question involves a philosophical choice: we have a choice about whether to define the English term “woman” to refer to the same thing as the scientific construct “female.” Historically, in English, this IS how the word was used implicitly. Because it was a useful way of using language (and still is for the most part.) The pragmatic school of philosophy asks the fundamental question of not whether a definition or concept is “true” but whether the concept is useful: the truth value cashes out in whatever is useful for your given context. And clearly the scientific context is conceptually distinct from social and legal contexts, though they obviously intersect in important ways when thinking about practical social policies like sex segregated spaces. But this is why the TRA vs GC debate is essentially pointless: each side screams at each other about “facts”; but we are not going to conclusively settle the debate about what is a woman by going out into the world with a microscope: it’s fundamentally a philosophical question which necessarily must remain unsettled as empirical facts never truly settle actual philosophical questions. The key question for society going forward is: are there new pragmatic contexts for having an additional (but not replacement) definition operate in society to accommodate passable transsexuals who blend pretty well into certain female social roles?

@neilDCFC @teajaysea123 @HallisseyC Well it doesn't work for all women whose needs you seem to have forgotten. You may also have failed to notice that men don't change into women by claiming a gender. Gender is a concept not rooted in reality, biology and fairness are.

But segregating trans women STILL doesn't keep women safe from lying predatory men, as I explained on @TurnLeftMediaUK All it does is hurt Trans people.
uncensored.woman.truths@tradMEwoman

@BenMclaine Some of the trans may be genuine and just want to "live and let live" but you have to recognize that there are going to be bad men that take advantage of your ideology to go into women and kids spaces with bad intentions. Im not willing to put them at risk just for your comfort.

@ThePosieParker @kinsellawarren @Mumma__Bear Then don't tell everyone about how much you don't care. If evidence based medicine is no big deal to you and the safety of women is like, nah, and the difference between fact and fiction doesn't matter that's fine. Paddle further upstream.

@kinsellawarren @Mumma__Bear The medical abuse of kids is nothing more than a culture war, sure sterilising kids is wrong, eradicating their sexual function a tad off, and slicing off healthy breasts is a menace but it’s not actually bad, not really. It’s a fuss about nothing. Who cares?

@SquidCynical @bargaincryptid @itsafrogslife Yes and it relates to the 2 sexes but also maybe a spectrum, a social construct or a feeling.
