I just walked into a gas station that back in the day I had done a beer run on with a couple of homies 🤣 I was like, 16 and just mischievous af. The boys were going to do a beer run and I wanted to go lol so they took me.. I went in last and I grabbed 2 cases, one in each hand, instead of 1 pack like my other 2 friends in front of me, the driver was waiting outside. As I walked out last the cashier had noticed us all walking out with beers, underage, and not paying lmao. The cashier jumped over the counter and lunged towards me as I ran out the door. He caught my ankles and I ate shit 😂 I landed sprawled out, face down, each case of beer busted open and rolling out on each side of me. My arms were spread like a T. My friends were already at the car screaming at me “Sarah!! Get the fuck up!!” The cashier was laying on the ground in back of me. I got up, jeans ripped, knee bleeding, and I ran to the car. We pealed out and left the cashier there on the ground holding his leg. …I left with no beer. Good times.

I wanted to share something. For about 10 years now, I’ve had this thing happen to me out of nowhere. It’s a terrible pain in my lower abdomen. It makes me sweat profusely, throw up, and then I’m just laid out in excruciating pain for the next hour. Sore the rest of the day after. It’s strange and it’s awful and it’s been happening for a long time. Lately, when I feel it coming on, I’ve been placing my hands over my womb because that’s where it’s centered and I start to pray. Honestly, it’s been working. The pain dissipates faster and I’ve stopped throwing up. I think I had read something that said “pray over your womb” and in desperation when this would happen, I began to. This last time though, the pain got worse despite the praying. And I asked myself why? Why is He letting it get worse this time? And it came to me, “it’s because He wants you to see something”. When I’m in pain like this, my brain goes into overdrive. What did I eat? What didn’t I eat? What did I drink? What did I do before this? What is causing this? Just racking my brain trying to figure why this is happening and what I’m doing to cause it. Through all of it, I kept thinking “mom” and this is not usual. I actually whispered “mom” out loud, hoping she could telepathically hear me. When I finally got enough strength to move without spiking the pain from an 8 to a 9, I went to text her and I saw that the last thing she’d sent me was a TikTok of a man singing in the woods: “Every single cell in my body is happy and well. I’m so glad every single cell in my body is happy and well” I open the TikTok, started to listen to it and I just started crying. The pain started to dissipate almost instantly not completely but I instantly felt a little relief and it was enough to trigger my tears. I laid there for another 20 minutes, listening and singing along and crying. Because it made me so grateful. For everything, I guess. For God, for my mom, even for the pain. I want to sing this often, listen to it often. Now I know from personal experience that it’s helpful and I obviously needed to know that. Prayer too. Prayer especially. I don’t know. This message might be special. It might be helpful and I just wanted to share it. I’ll drop the TikTok below as well 🤍

@sarah_talley_ Sober is the way. I get so much more accomplished when I shy away from the drink. It’s not as good for creativity as drugs are, but as Earnest Hemingway said: “write drunk, edit sober”; so you have temper your decisions to maximize a good life.

Traveling sober is way better than traveling and drinking/partying. I enjoy it so much more now.
