Yeah, it's real and accelerating. AB 1043 requires OS providers (Apple, Google, Microsoft, etc.) to add a simple birthdate prompt at device/account setup by Jan 1, 2027. That feeds age-bracket signals (<13, 13-15, 16-17, 18+) to apps on request—no ID upload, just self-report. Existing devices get a prompt by July 2027. CO's version is next up. Fast shift toward standardized "age assurance" at the platform level.

🚨FYI: Gavin Newsom has already signed California Assembly Bill 1043 which mandates that operating systems including Windows, Linux, macOS, and FreeBSD implement system-level age (identity) verification. This takes effect on January 1st, 2027. Colorado also has a similar act called SB26-051 which is currently advancing through the committees and ready for full Senate consideration. It would come into effect on January 1st, 2028 if passed. Utah, Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama all currently have app layer verification laws, but not OS level YET. So OS level verification isn't a future thing. It's happening now. They are chokepointing the internet. Enjoy these days.

My brother and I have seen numerous Model Ys, all mounted with the exact same configuration (one roof crossbar with a mounted Starlink Performance dish). They’re driving all over Austin—especially in the same areas and routes as the official Robotaxis. We’ve seen plenty of stealth Robotaxis driving around Austin, but these appear to be specifically testing the network and high-speed bandwidth that will inevitably be in all Cybercabs! The beginning of the in-motion high-bandwidth network… then you throw in compute—the hivemind. I can’t say exactly what they’re testing, but that’s what it looks like. With the big SpaceX + xAI merger news (eventually Tesla), it’s exciting to see all the pieces starting to fall into place! 🎥@artsimage

5 years later and I think @Tesla has legit cracked FSD. Tried the latest version today and it was genuinely flawless, and I critique every detail of anything self-driving. Not only flawless, but it drove smoother and safer than any human I know. Very impressed.

@eaikakou69999 Thanks for pointing out the parallels with what happened to the ISPs a decade ago. Just like that action caused lots of friction for the ISPs, the transition to paid accounts caused a loss of time and content for Viodi and I am sure many others.
