“The rich feel taxation in spreadsheets. The poor feel taxation in groceries” Today in Parliament, I participated in the discussion on the Finance Bill 2026. I highlighted that This budget is not about “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” — it is “Sabka Bojh, Sirf Unka Vikas.” - the burden on the many, but benefits for the chosen few. 🔹 Unemployment Crisis Ignored 83% of the unemployed are youth. Nearly 40% of graduates under 29 have no jobs. Yet, no concrete job creation plan - only empty slogans like “Yuvashakti.” 🔹 Rising Inequality Top 10% hold 65% of wealth, while the bottom 50% survive on just 6%. No wealth tax, no redistribution - only corporate concessions. 🔹 Welfare Cuts ₹59,456 crore cut in welfare spending. Key schemes like MGNREGA, PMAY, PMJAY and PM POSHAN are being weakened. 🔹 Burden on the Poor & Middle Class Indirect taxes continue to hit common people the hardest. No real tax relief for the middle class. Increasing powers of tax authorities raise serious concerns. 🔹 Farmers & Rural Distress No legal MSP guarantee. No serious plan to address debt, climate risks or price instability. 🔹 Energy & LPG Concerns High import dependence, weak infrastructure, and forced PNG transitions without addressing affordability or feasibility. 🔹 Crony Capitalism Tax breaks, incentives, and policy support for a few large corporates while subsidies for the poor are reduced. 🔹 Paltry sum alloted to the Judiciary - highlighted the Poor infrastructure, low investment, and lack of focus on modernisation despite growing caseloads. 🔹 Fiscal Hypocrisy Centre’s debt rising sharply, yet it lectures States on discipline. Tamil Nadu contributes massively but receives only ₹0.23 for every ₹1 paid — a clear case of fiscal injustice. 🔹 Pending Dues to Tamil Nadu Over ₹10,000 crore in dues still unpaid, including funds under key schemes like Jal Jeevan Mission. This budget reflects misplaced priorities - growth without equity, numbers without relief, and slogans without substance. The people of Tamil Nadu are watching you. You have given nothing to Tamil Nadu for last 5 years and made them struggle. Mark my words. ‘கன்ஜெனிட்டல் ஹைப்போ தைராய்டிசம்’ (CH) பாதிப்பால், ஆண்டுதோறும் சுமார் 10,000-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட குழந்தைகள் நிரந்தர மூளை வளர்ச்சிக் குறைபாட்டிற்குத் தள்ளப்படுகின்றனர்.
குழந்தை பிறந்த 14 நாட்களுக்குள் ‘யுனிவர்சல் ஸ்கிரீனிங்’ (Universal Newborn Screening) எனப்படும் ரூ.50 மட்டுமே செலவாகும் பரிசோதனையை செய்தால் இதனை எளிதில் குணப்படுத்தி குழந்தைகளின் எதிர்காலத்தை பாதுகாத்து விடலாம்.
வளர்ந்த நாடுகள் கடந்த 60 ஆண்டுகளாக இந்த எளிய மருத்துவ முறையை பின்பற்றி வருகின்றன. ஆனால் இந்தியா போன்ற வளர்ந்து வரும் நாடுகளில் இந்த மருத்துவ சோதனை இன்னும் கட்டாயமாக்கவில்லை.
அரசு மருத்துவமனைகளில் பிறக்கும் லட்சக்கணக்கான குழந்தைகளுக்கு இலவசமாக வழங்கத் தேவையான நிதி மற்றும் கொள்கை முடிவுகளை எடுப்பதில் அரசு சுணக்கம் காட்டி வருகிறது.
உரிய நடவடிக்கை இல்லாததால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட குழந்தைகளின் குடும்பங்கள் வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் மருத்துவச் செலவுகளுக்கும், பராமரிப்புச் செலவுகளுக்கும் ஆளாகின்றனர். இது ஏற்கெனவே பொருளாதார ரீதியாகப் பின் தங்கியுள்ள குடும்பங்களை மேலும் வறுமைக்குத் தள்ளுகிறது.

Jaipur, near Jal Mahal… foreign tourists allegedly harassed, surrounded, filmed like objects. This is not “hospitality.” This is intimidation. People come to India with curiosity and respect… and leave with fear and trauma. One such video is enough to damage the image of the entire country globally. > Where is accountability? > Where is policing in tourist hotspots? @jaipur_police Again I am saying this clearly… there must be dedicated tourist police at every major tourist spot. Not on paper, but visible on ground. We talk about boosting tourism, but ignore basic safety and civic behaviour. Fix this now… or wait and watch India slowly getting blacklisted as a travel destination. Identify the culprits. Take strict action. Silence will only encourage repeat.

@Md_Nowsath_ 😭 Few days ago we saw so many videos of the Holi celebration of north india. Before we discuss Tamil Nadu issues, I have a question about - how north Indians become so confident to talk about the civic sense, cleanliness, polluting rivers & embarrassing before foreigners. 🤦🏻♂️
