We need to leave NATO but continue to work with Europe as strategic partners while streamlining our military footprint there. Russia is not the conventional threat it used to be. Europe can be a regional power and deal with Russia effectively on its own. We launched a war on Iran without those permanent bases we use in Europe. So we don’t really need them, as we cannot rely on them. We need to let Europe go it’s own way while maintaining a strategic partnership with this friendly countries. But most of them aren’t really friendly towards the US and their populations don’t view the US favorably. It’s true. Just ask Grok. It’s just time to move on from WWII and the Cold War. We’ve upgraded our capabilities substantially over the last 20 years and we will even more over the next 5 to 10 years. We just don’t need them for our global power projection.
