11th hour announcement by @NYSDEC extending comment period from today to Jan 4-Proposed amendment is to split one of the Brownfield cleanup sections into 2 -further fragmenting the larger former Citizens Gas Works in Gowanus which should be a State Superfund site in its entirety

@NYSDEC has no enforcement power under Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) as it would if the Citizens site were in the State Superfund Program And our tax dollars subsidize the developer’s cleanup under BCP + the responsible polluter, National Grid doesn’t pay #gowanus
