Appealing to sentiment over logic is not constructive. It’s like saying “Anorexic people aren’t a debate. They’re human beings.” It might make you feel nice, but it doesn’t help anyone, especially anorexic people. Nobody suggests trans-identified people aren’t human beings. But there is significant debate about appropriate treatment pathways, and about associated rights and restrictions. None of which deny any human being their human rights.
