The whole “defiant Europe” tough-guy act evaporates. And poof...the story vanishes. No “stunning reversal” banner. No “What changed, Emmanuel?” follow-up. No “Herr Pistorius, care to explain the 180?” Just a sad little wire-service crumb buried on page 17 like it was always the plan.
