We protested outside a pub to show our disgust at drag queens twerking in front of kids. We had the full weight of the media attack us and try to brand us as “transphobic”, “far-right”, and “racist”. We had local Labour councillors and the local Labour MP join violent thugs as they tried to attack us. We faced major police discrimination and abuse. We were violently attacked with weapons as the police stood back and watched. Unions actively funded counter protestors to bus in activists when they couldn’t generate enough local support. The local council threatened to suspend the licenses of any local pubs that would serve us after our protests, to ensure that we were made to feel unwelcome. We didn’t intimidate any teachers. We didn’t close down any schools. We actively avoided confronting the attendees of the event and did not block the entrance of the pub - even though we fundamentally disagreed with the parents and Drag Queens. We never instigated any violence. We now see another group directly protesting outside a school and shutting it down because one child broke the school’s rules and was told off. Actively ruining all the pupils’ education and intimidating children and teachers. Where is the outrage? Where are the politicians? Where are the left? Where are the unions? Where are the police? Where is the local council? Funny two-tiered world we live in.
