GN CT Now that the weather is a bit cooler let talk about @likwid_fi the last time we covered what they are and what they are building now let talk about a little about their technology @likwid_fi is one of monad dapps and it building a unified DeFi" protocol, it a platform that merges a Decentralized Exchange (AMM) and a Lending Protocol into a single system so yeah...... you might be asking what is AMM and how does it merges lending protocol into one single system so let dive in "What is an AMM (Automated Market Maker)?" In traditional finance (like the stock market), if you want to sell a stock, there has to be another human (or institution) on the other side willing to buy it at that price. this is called an Order Book well with AMM it more like a robot Instead of trading with a person, you trade against a "pool" of monkey (a smart contract) people called it liquidity providers (LPs) deposit tokens into this pool think of an AMM more like a vending machine yjou don't need a shopkeeper to be present to buy a soda you just put money in, and the machine gives you the product. the Liquidity providers are the people who stock the machine "How Likwid Merges AMM + Lending" In the current DeFi landscape (the "old" way), these two things are usually separate Uniswap (AMM): Money sits there waiting to be swapped. Aave (Lending): Money sits there waiting to be borrowed If you put money in Uniswap, it can't be lent out on Aave this is called capital inefficiency your assets can only do one job at a time but with likwid the solution is simple "here is how the merge works in a single system" --> The unified deposit when a liquidity Provider deposits assets (e.g USDC) into likwid, they aren't just putting it into a trading pool OR a lending pool they are depositing it into a Unified Liquidity Pool --> The Dual Utilization once the money is in that unified pool the protocol allows it to be accessed by two different types of users simultaneously >> The Borrower (Lending side) >> The Trader (AMM side) --> The Supercharged Yield because the capital is working two jobs the liquidity provider earns rewards from both sources Yield = Trading Fees + Lending Interest So yeah..... we have been talking for a long time let take a look at the full conclusion, by merging the protocol likwid solves the problem of Idle liquidity In a standard AMM if no one is trading the money just sits there doing nothing but with @likwid_fi, it kinda of different no one is trading, that money can still be lent out to earn interest It makes the capital hyper-efficient on the Monad blockchain
