In her video message, IT Minister @Famiglia_Gov, Ms. Eugenia #Roccella, highlighted that IT legislation prohibits and criminalizes #surrogacy. “Women are not instruments, children are not commodities, and human dignity is never negotiable.” IT PR Amb. @margiodi stressed the key contribution from continued dialogue among States, international organizations, experts and civil society to better address the risks of exploitation and strengthen the protection of women and children. The UN Charter is not optional—it is our guiding framework, in moments of calm and in times of crisis, like in Venezuela today, culiminating with the United States military action. Article 2 of the UN Charter clearly stipulates that all Members of the United Nations shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, or in any other manner inconsistent with the purposes of the United Nations. Respect of the UN Charter and international law is the foundation of the international order. A peaceful, safe and just world for everyone is only possible if the rule of law prevails instead of might makes right. And if human rights including those of the Venezuelan people prevail over human rights violations.

I welcome the announcement of an agreement to secure a ceasefire & hostage release in Gaza, based on the proposal put forward by @POTUS. I commend the diplomatic efforts of the United States, Qatar, Egypt & Türkiye in brokering this desperately needed breakthrough. I urge all concerned to abide fully by the terms of the agreement. All hostages must be released in a dignified manner. A permanent ceasefire must be secured. The fighting must stop once & for all. Immediate & unimpeded entry of humanitarian supplies & essential commercial materials into Gaza must be ensured. The suffering must end. The @UN will support the full implementation of the agreement & will scale up the delivery of sustained & principled humanitarian relief, and we will advance recovery & reconstruction efforts in Gaza. I urge all stakeholders to seize this momentous opportunity to establish a credible political path forward towards ending the occupation, recognizing the right to self-determination of the Palestinian people, leading to a two-state solution to enable Israelis & Palestinians to live in peace & security.
