I had to give a virtual talk last week and this was my background (forgot to change it). Someone in the audience asked me who it was and if they could see the entire thing. I said her name and moved away. I heard an audible gasp, then applause.

Tonight I got to go to dinner with the Greater Boston Reading Council, part of the Massachusetts Reading Association, who gave me the Celebrate Literacy Award “for exemplary service in promotion of literacy.” I’m beyond honored. It’s a joy and privilege to get to do what I do. 💛
