NBA Top Shot Moments will now be permanently stored on IPFS, a decentralized network, making each one a collectible that exists in perpetuity – independent of any single entity. Every video highlight, the thumbnail, and metadata. Built in collaboration with the NBA and Dapper Labs, this is expected to be announced this week. Explainer follows. IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) is a decentralized, peer-to-peer storage network used to store, share, and access files and data without relying on central servers. IPFS is made of multiple IPFS nodes, so no one entity can control what is shared on the network, this allows immutability (unchangeable data) and permanence - but only if the data is pinned to at least one node. Pinning is what turns "accessible in theory" into "accessible permanently." The more a Moment is requested, the more nodes it passes through, and the more opportunities for it to be pinned organically by others. This can also be done deliberately through a pinning service as well, and Dapper Labs would likely use one or several of these to ensure redundancy. Whenever a node wants to share content on IPFS, it runs the content through a cryptographic hash and returns a CID (Content Identifier). The CID is tied to the content itself – change anything at all, and you get a completely different CID – this is what makes it tamper-proof. Moments will have a public CID, so anyone can independently verify the media is authentic and access the original files directly – no middleman needed. Moments will become decentralized IPFS-pinned assets to ensure they remain accessible forever, so even if Dapper Labs ceased operations, your collectibles would still exist and be retrievable, no matter what.

Stable@Stable

The latest report by @citrini spotlights @Stable as a fix for gas headaches and multi-token friction in agentic payments. ⚙️ By using USDT for both gas and settlement, we enable simple and predictable costs in dollars. No gas conversion. No exposure to volatile tokens. 🚀

I BUILT A BOT THAT SEES THE FUTURE 8 SECONDS AHEAD Penalty, red card, goal - probability jumps 15-30 points instantly. But Polymarket updates in 15-20 seconds, my bot in 8. Live stadium data through Sportradar WebSocket - player coordinates, speed, xG, pressing, all in realtime, not from broadcast. $12K/year, same data bookmakers buy. ML model recalculates probability after every event. Lineup, form, fatigue, minute, score. 3 months of training, $2K on GPU. Private RPC on Polygon - $200/mo, 3-5 seconds faster than public nodes. Gas overpay for block priority - $800/mo at 8 matches per week. Up to 8 matches in parallel. Champions League, EPL, La Liga. Each match - separate instance, separate wallet. Total cost: $18K/year. But I see the future 8 seconds ahead. I don't know who will win, but I know exactly where the oracle falls behind.

Have had many conversations with teams that interact with the foundation, have had interactions with the foundation, and observe social media presence of people within the foundation. There seems to be full of leadership and cohesive vision within the org.

Not sure why everyone is getting so salty about IcoBeast saying CT is dead. It genuinely is. As someone who is both building AND creating, I think I have a unique perspective. 1. User acquisition funnel is cooked. CT as a growth funnel is barely working anymore. It’s why you see less companies doing paid deals and focusing their marketing on other apps. Is it the users? Is it the creators? Who knows, but it’s cooked. 2. Slop & clickbait makes this place unusable Why would I want to scroll a timeline full of AI slop & bot farms for ref links + paid deals when I can hang out in smaller chats with my friends? 3. Most people just want a paycheck, they don’t even use crypto Like actually. It doesn’t matter if you have the best tech in the world, no one wants to try anything unless they’re getting paid to do it. 4. The drama The egos here are fucking huge. Like how do people expect serious builders to take CT seriously, if they don’t act like serious people? I like CT. It’s fun. But it was way more fun 6 months ago, a year ago, 2 years ago, etc I too find myself spending way less time here and exploring other niches that interest me. Why? Because it’s way more fun than trying to fit into cliquey groups full of ppl that just want brand deals. Also, as a builder, that’s where real users are. Like do you guys see Kalshi and Polymarket dedicated nearly a fraction of the ad spend on CT users that they do on normal users?
