Knife Attack at Medical University Hostel in Russia’s Ufa; 6 Injured, 15-Year-Old Arrested. A serious knife attack was reported at a hostel of Bashkir State Medical University in Ufa, the capital of Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic, on Saturday, February 7. The hostel houses foreign students. According to media reports, a masked man entered the hostel, set off firecrackers, threatened students and then carried out a knife attack. At least six people were injured in the incident. Frightened students locked themselves inside their rooms and alerted each other through WhatsApp groups. Reports also claim that the attacker drew a swastika symbol on a wall using blood. The Russian Investigative Committee said the accused is a 15-year-old minor. During his arrest, the suspect resisted and two police officers were injured by knife wounds. The accused also injured himself and has been hospitalised.
