Yes, we want a world class curriculum but a renewal of what we are to teach needs to then sit alongside a deep understanding of the lives of so many of our children and the reality of the educators and staff in school who are trying to both teach AND support them.

Your early years team will already be inducting children for next year. But let’s take a moment to properly acknowledge this year. Those children came in unable to read and write. And now they can read and write. And the rest. How do you even do that?

I’m not sure if there’s enough wider understanding of the incredible job practitioners in early years have been doing. Helping our youngest children through the impact of COVID and lockdowns has been really tough. 2/8

How often yesterday did you give some positive feedback to someone you work with? How often did you say thank you? How often did someone say something positive to you? Is the answer is not at all then that’s food for thought surely? 💜💜

@DeputyGrocott @SparxMaths My daughter is very conscientious but has been getting very upset with her sparx maths homework. There have been numerous times when she has been in tears and I have told her to leave it. It’s not really helping her to find her love of maths.

Hi @SparxMaths are you aware that if a question can’t be completed then the homework states ‘incomplete’ until a correct answer is given. Doesn’t seem right to me.

Finally on our way home 🙏🏼 what a half term that turned out to be. Grateful to the care of Whipps Cross hospital and the NHS. Mrs H will be on the road to recovery now 🤍💙💛 More tests needed but initial signs and results are all positive.
