Have been using @1Password CLI + direnv for local dev secrets + it's pretty nice. direnv loads based on cwd, 1Pass prompts before decrypting, and .envrc can be committed. Can also `op run --env-file` to keep secrets to just the process that needs, vs entire shell

Another thing I wanna do is play with RAG for more free form questions: "Here's my situation with x y z, are there any similar things that have happened in the past?"

Still "demo level" and pretty basic, but a good excuse to play with this newfangled LLM stuff. Could do a lot more with the prompt + setup coz the results depend on the underlying model (Claude, above) being really good.

A powerful way to to think about mastery is as a 3 part cycle: Simplicity → Complexity → Simplicity 1. You are new to something it seems so obvious 2. You dive deep and realize the nuances, intricacies, and competing ideas on the topic 3. Your understanding is rich AND simple

looking at how existing technological progress, wealth, etc have played out I think it’ll accelerate everyone in the configs that theyre in. some people use wealth and intelligence to become Advanced Stupid, ie use their higher-level freedom to spiral into becoming more miserable

AI is going to make us all smarter as it handles low level tasks for us and frees our mind to handle higher level tasks that AI can’t do.
