@shaaka777 @kinjeketile They had good salaries but almost run the airline down with incompetence. I am sure a fair salary structure will be incorporated

@kinjeketile He doesn’t want any more money from government, says he has adequate equipment to work with. His views on staff salaries though 😳 I see most of the current staff leaving. Apparently, old EAC airline was their benchmark and was admired globally in the industry.

Should have done this from the get go instead of those jokes during set up. Instead of CRJ, go the Q400 route that you can use for local & regional, and get 737s to bridge the gap in Africa. And 3 787s for the hops across oceans.

Uganda Airlines is at a pivotal moment. In this piece, I explore what the recent developments really signal and why the quiet gravity of Ethiopian Airlines may shape its future more than we think. =>> open.substack.com/pub/dereknseko…

Mr. @AndrewMwenda, How come you left out all these crucial details when you were advocating and celebrating the need for a new CEO for @UG_Airlines? Who are you protecting? Can we have the name of the person who procured these problematic planes made public? You never mentioned who procured these planes that are causing problems for management. Surely the airline problems run deeper than an incompetent CEO.

Girma Wake’s conditions to the Ethiopian government for his appointment to the CEO position. Does the Uganda government have the discipline to give professional autonomy to any Uganda Airlines CEO ? That is essentially what it takes.

Jenifer Bamuturaki’s job at Uganda Airlines hangs by a thread after the board resolved to readvertise the position of chief executive officer, sources have told Bbeg Media. Positions of other directors are also likely to be re-advertised. @BbegMedia bbegmedia.com/sources-uganda…

@TheMutaD @Opiaiya @shaaka777 I had a feeling the odds were stacked against her. The moment I heard the mwenda lots going after her I knew she was done. I heard that the 5X-CRN A330 that's been down with engine issues is because they have cleared their debt with Rolls Royce for the after care engine product

20th flight of 2026: @FlyRwandAir WB435 from Entebbe to Kigali. Boeing 737-800 registered 9XR-WY. This is the 1130th flight of all time. Rwanda (ISO 3166-2:RW) is the 144th country/territory I have visited. It is also the 113th independent sovereign state I have been to. 🇺🇬✈️🇷🇼

@BritAviaNews @TheMutaD @shaaka777. Seems UR is learning from mistakes. Right now 5X-CRN A330 is down as well while 5X-NIL which was stuck in lagos is doing all long haul flights and the leased A320 from Dat to dubai. Honestly this is a low travel season shouldn't impact them deep

Info | Uganda Airlines is to decrease it's flights from Entebbe to London Gatwick. From February flights will operate 3x Weekly instead of 4x Weekly with the Wednesday service being cut. The reduction is down to operational issues.

Yes — a 2019 Toyota RAV4 (2.0 L and below) in Uganda is commonly priced around UGX 95,000,000 to UGX 150,000,000+ in the used market, with some listings even at about UGX 95 million for a 2.0 cc example. We can import you one for 90M Ugshs from japan 🇯🇵 Deposit 50M +254792217507

@shaaka777 Definitely. Lets hope the lazy and bureaucracy involved in the parent share holders wont further hold them down. Feels like the management is tasked to deliver 100% but with minimmal financial commitment and disbursememt from share holders and that means they set them up to fail

They need new birds ASAP, the aviation market punishes inertia harder than mistakes.
Wakiso omuto@wakisoomuto

@shaaka777 @TheMutaD Wow thats a quick turn around. I live within the uganda community and i can tell you that the flight disruptions sunk UR credibility and reputation to the lowest. Lets hope they can redeem themselves. I know they good at attracting people back by offering 3 suitscase at 23k each

@nikita_helene Their frustrations are valid and as Ugandans in general have got a lot to learn about airline management. I can tell you alot of the issues happening were caused by previous management. Its hard for this new one to run an airline on an international level on a Uganda like budget

people are mostly agnostic about airlines. if the ur flights hadn't been falsely scheduled... people would have used their money and found other means to travel. the ruckus is coz people were scammed: their money was taken and the promised service not provided
Wakiso omuto@wakisoomuto

@nikita_helene Demand follows supply. Thats a basic principle. The demand for their flights was there in the first place but UR was unable to offer ontime scheduled flights due to aircraft down in lagos and 1 CRJ down if thats not the case then there wouldnt have been all this online ruckus.

disruptions don't prove demand if flights are scheduled, advertised, payments received... and then the airline doesn't deliver, that doesn't prove demand (proves incompetence) if the flights weren't scheduled, but people still demanded for them, then THAT would prove demand
Wakiso omuto@wakisoomuto

@TheMutaD @shaaka777 Definitely. UR management has been asking for new aircraft for a few years but the 2 share holders have been dragging their feet to release the funds. In away these disruptions have been a blessing in disguise as it shows theres demand for their services and justifys purchase
