Couple notes from Chip Hale:
1. RHP JT Drake is out for the season. Arizona had hoped he'd be able to come back from an arm issue, but it's not happening. That makes four season-ending or possibly season-ending injuries for the Wildcats' bullpen.

2. Arizona's pitching is so thin that Hale has contemplated canceling some of Arizona's midweek games. That said, the hitting wasn't up to snuff tonight. Can't score just three runs and expect to win a midweek vs. anyone with a banged-up pitching staff.

I can understand Arizona fans wanting the tournament closer to them. Any fan base would. But I would urge any of them who have major issues with it to just come experience it in Kansas City once. You can't do a conference tourney much better than KC does.

@jlkurtz Biggest issue with Vegas is it's a long trip for most of the conference in comparison to the central location of KC for everyone in the conference. Also, Vegas isn't exactly family-friendly sometimes.

If you’re projected to be in the 20s or later of the draft as a player with a clear opportunity the following season to climb into the top 10 / lotto, you absolutely should stay at school. With current projections, I believe Koa & Mo should stay. A 3 point shot + weaker class..

Arizona baseball is in the midst of a youth movement.
Among position players, 6 freshmen (including redshirts) have appeared in 44 games + made 38 starts thru 12 contests.
Last year UA used only 1 freshman position player, OF Gunner Geile, who made 27 appearances + 16 starts.

@MichaelJLev Breyfogle was in the White/Summerhill class. Right now we should have done position players as sophomores leading this team and I just don’t see it. That’s a lot of misses. Lima and Novitske look like the real deal. Things are better but not scoring guys from third/less 2 outs is
