Drove on FSD for a total of about 4 hours today. Was getting a lot of 👌 on my Model Y lol. Guy in the black Model 3 said he's picking up his new Tesla soon.

Very fair and well put together video, Will. It can't have been easy, so full respect to you. I was under the misapprehension that at least Dan as CEO was trying to get rid of TDS. It's heartbreaking to hear that your call with him fell on deaf ears. Such a devastating disease.
Will@TeslaJigsaw

I was their BIGGEST fan. Panelist, Patreon supporter, event regular, even started my own channel partly because of them. Now I finally had to speak out about what happened to Fully Charged / Everything Electric. The name change, the silence on Tesla, my call with CEO Dan Ceaser… This one was hard to make. Watch below 👇

@diaper @wholemars I used to love WAP for its low bandwidth requirements and simple interface. I had bookmarks for live train departures from my local stations. I read that the WAP site was still live up until at least 2014 but most likely long gone now.

@giarC71 @wholemars Because every good driver who was supervising FSD until now simply pressed the brake to bring the car to a halt if they realised it wasn't going to stop. Which part of this is hard to comprehend? Why prioritise this over oncoming car avoidance/pulling over for emergency vehicle?

We're at the point where even Dan O'Dowd is hyping Tesla Self-Driving. I need to buy more calls $TSLA
Dan O'Dowd@RealDanODowd

BREAKING: Tesla self-driving finally passed @RealDawnProject's school bus test! On 50 out of 50 test runs, FSD 14.3.2 correctly stopped for the stopped school bus. After three years of campaigning, New York Times ads and Super Bowl commercials, Tesla has finally done the right thing and fixed this egregious safety defect. However, HW3 Teslas running FSD v 12.6.4 will still illegally blow past the stopped school bus and run down a child crossing the road. @ElonMusk, if the defects can't be fixed on the current hardware, FSD should be disabled until those vehicles have been upgraded. @aelluswamy, your next task is to stop FSD 14 from speeding in school zones.

@Nate_Esparza When ten people I follow have quote tweeted a popular tweet, just show me a bar underneath the first QT with icons of all the accounts that have also QTd, so I can click on the bar to see all takes. Right now, I'm seeing ten different takes randomly dispersed in my feed.

Why did Elon do a deal with Intel? The secret is GaN. Gallium Nitride. "GaN-based electronics are inherently more radiation-tolerant (or "radiation-hard") than traditional silicon devices, making them better suited for use in space environments where radiation exposure is high." My dad built the chips for use in our military's satellites and he told me decades ago about Gallium Nitride, so this caught my eye. I think most people would miss this. Thanks dad!

@FullOfStarships @AutismCapital @nikitabier Yes, and usually this is due to a bug... the composer says we have 280 characters, but if we write exactly 280 characters, it counts that as needing a "show more" once posted Might be fixed in the new look Android version but I can't use that: it forces image display in timeline

@grok @blabla86611706 @teslaeurope There's no upgrade path from Intel to AMD yet though, is there? Your pricing sounds in the right ballpark but I don't have the upgrade option available in my app or in-car. No update from Tesla on this as yet.

@blabla86611706 @teslaeurope Sorry to hear that! Upgrading your infotainment to AMD could enable Grok—costs around $1,500–$2,000 depending on your setup. Check Tesla's site or app for details in your region.

@tumble_wood @James95113983 @DirtyTesLa Also, the d'lded USB video is encoded using lossy compression after adjusting the dynamic range for better representation to humans. The raw photon count video feed into the HW3/4 NN has far higher dynamic range and no compression loss/artifacts. Similar to JPEG vs RAW photos.

@James95113983 @DirtyTesLa Easy way to check this: download video from the car and see if you can still read the road signs from the video at reasonable distances. I’ve done this a few times on HW4 and I think the resolution is fine.

So FSD does have *some* type of ability to interpret signs... I won't say reading... but if this gets better in future updates, FSD will be on another level (again)

It's wild that anyone with a Grok login can read a @Grokipedia article, spot something that's not right, select the text, click the Suggest Edit popup and type in an explanation/suggestion, only for Grok to go away, research and return ~2-3 minutes later with an updated entry 🤯

Congratulations on another set of stupid questions
Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt

Here are the retail investor questions that will be asked during @Tesla's Q4 earnings call tomorrow (Wednesday). They've changed a bit since my last post: 1) You once said: Loyalty deserves loyalty. Will long term Tesla shareholders still be prioritized if SpaceX does an IPO? 2) What is the current bottleneck to increased Robotaxi deployment & personal use unsupervised FSD? The safety/performance of the most recent models or people to monitor robots robotaxis in-car or remotely? Or something else? 3) After the unveiling of the Cybertruck, Musk stated if it didn’t sell well, Tesla would build a more conventional looking pickup. How practical would it be to create this new design on the Cybertruck architecture and could it be conveniently built on the existing production lines? 4) Regarding Optimus, could you share the current number of units deployed in Tesla factories and actively performing production tasks? What specific roles or operations are they handling, and how has their integration impacted factory efficiency or output? 5) When is FSD going to be 100% unsupervised? 6) With Robotaxi live, can you share early unit economics? Approximate revenue and cost per mile (or per ride), whether rides are already contribution-margin positive, and the main drivers/timeline to reach high-margin scaled cash flows as the fleet grows and supervision drops? 7) Can you please tie purchased FSD to our owner accounts vs. locked to the car? This will help us enjoy it in any Tesla we drive/buy and reward us for hanging in so long, some of us since 2017. 8) When does Tesla expect to start building its own chip fab? And what is your best guess on when production would start?

Robotaxi rides without any safety monitors are now publicly available in Austin. Starting with a few unsupervised vehicles mixed in with the broader robotaxi fleet with safety monitors, and the ratio will increase over time.

@sspencer_smb @SawyerMerritt Yes, unnecessary because some Robotaxis will have one or more Optimus riding in them, windows down and armed with Super Soakers to remotely wash the rear cameras of any cars that request it 😉 🧼🔫 I'm only half joking!

For an hour driving back to New York City today I got alerts telling me to clean the rear camera and the front camera. I think they made the decision not to have a solution until they built a robo-taxi. It wasn't worth the expense, because they probably figured a very low percentage would ever be used as robotaxis.

@DrKnowItAll16 @SawyerMerritt @elonmusk Do you really think that renting FSD will allow you to add your Tesla to the Robotaxi fleet and get the same share of revenue per mile? They may also only allow subscribers to supplement the fleet during peak periods, whilst those who purchased FSD get privileged access.

@SawyerMerritt @elonmusk So 8 years is the equality time where owning makes more sense than renting. Most folks don’t own their cars that long so renting is the better option.
