Shell Nigeria runs a competitive graduate program that receives 30,000 - 50,000 applications yearly yet they only accept 6 - 10 candidates. Just because they aren’t screaming about it doesn’t mean something isn’t happening. Can you tell me why only 6 - 10 applicants qualify from 5,000 people? Again, we need to have serious discussions devoid of emotions.

People always make blanket statements but Cowrywise launched an IWD program that trained over a hundred designers for free Kuda did the same (and I know how they were dragged here) Alt School/TalentQL have a program for Senior Engineers (I designed the soft skills curriculum, so I know) Moniepoint has been doing IWD internships for two years running now Risevest have a similar trainee cohort (I know cause I taught a session last year) etc. It's easy for you to pile on organisations, but what solutions are you providing? Also, there is a limit to what organisations can do about capcity building if the the government is doing nothing and the economy is this horrendous. There are a lot of things to say but everyone just keep waffling and making emotional outbursts. Anyways, happy Monday to everyone who has a KPI to meet.

@themmanuelfaith How is that a blanket statement? A 10 yr old company is a full-grown business, not a startup. The goal is not to be lean again, but sustainability, which demands fresh intake into your pipeline every year.

@segun_os_ Did informatics Olympiad as a Jss3 student. I see question like this, I sharply ask if the informatics questions they gave me was for senior classes .they said informatics is one paper for both junior and senior . Still came first in my state though

government secondary schools can be funny. in SS1, my school selected the top 3 maths students and took us for an olympiad competition. mind you, we weren’t told it was a competition. we didn’t prepare, we weren’t trained, and we had never even seen an olympiad syllabus.
