FOLD! FOLD! FOLD! An overnight timelapse of one of our live deployments teleoperated from over 7000 miles away. Our robots fold 24/7/365 with no human intervention, handling long-tail edge cases with no downtime.

We've also collected the world's largest dataset of cloth manipulation in a real world environment... Stay tuned!

We are extending our teleoperation infrastructure to enable remote inference for cloud-hosted robot foundation models. Robot policies that had to be invoked on edge can now be run from the cloud with no performance loss.

@TomPJacobs Too modular and highly unstable. Great for prototyping, terrible for performance in prod.

At Berkeley, we drink real coffee. 6 shots of straight espresso, every morning (minimum). - 1x speed, teleoperated from 6,965 miles away. - 87ms photon-to-photon latency. - Unprecedented dexterity. How did we do it? We lay out our unique technical approaches below and what recent catalysts made this all possible 👇

@_getchris Yup. No off the shelf solution was capable of both gentle fine-grained manipulation and high strength gripping. We built off the ALOHA2 design from @tonyzzhao and made it stronger and more robust for deployment.

Where does that leave us? We've bulletproofed our entire stack, we've had 0 instances of software related downtime (Rust is awesome), and we'll be deploying pilots in the SF Bay Area in the coming months. You'll see our guys pop up quietly — they'll be hard to miss.

Wait but network latency? Well we can thank @elonmusk for making the speed of light 30% faster too. We reduce signal latency transmitting over vacuum than fiber. We learned about the laser links coming online from a few friends @SpaceX. Turns out, 300 miles up, and a straight line across the globe is a lot faster than ping-ponging across BGP boundaries.
