@duncancampbell @wattarchive There are more relevant reliability numbers for customers. Specifically SAIDI - system average interruption duration index. In Australia, we have 100-200 minutes per year of interrupted supply.

Electric utilities have become the center of attention in the technology and political media. Affordability, AI, clean energy, etc. Use @wattarchive to determine which media narratives do and don’t make sense for your utility.

@AtypicalProduct @duncancampbell @whatisnuclear The data comes from eia but they don’t surface it in an accessible manner. It’s a million spreadsheets in different formats that you need to compile into a common database and analyze. Their lookup tool only shows you the state level aggregation which is less useful.
