RISING FROM THE ASHES OF CANCEL CULTURE We are currently facing some of the darkest forces in our country—forces that do not want us to succeed and that thrive on the negative energy generated by conflict and turmoil. The media often focuses on encouraging division and hate amongst one other. While there are certainly individuals who deserve our loathing, many of them entrenched in South African politics and those who have dedicated their lives to committing crimes that undermine the fabric of our society. They unquestionably should be buried in the depths of the societal sewer they have helped create. However, what I did not anticipate was that certain journalists would also find themselves on this list, but here we are. Perhaps the most demoralising aspect of our society is the widespread level of injustice. Individuals who are accused of committing serious crimes—such as our President, our Minister of Justice, political leaders like Julius Malema, CEO’s of companies like British Petroleum, Petro-props, Century Developers, Johannesburg Property Company and DEVMCO—not only evade the consequences for their alleged crimes, but are in fact rewarded by becoming grotesquely wealthy off the backs of hard working and suffering citizens. There are also those whose so-called “crimes”—almost all related to their exercise of free speech—can, as Katy Hopkins so eloquently puts it, lead to their existence, ability to earn a living, and chances of survival being eviscerated by a mere stroke of a pen or a phone call. It is the insidious nature of cancel culture. What this accomplishes is a resignation from the idea of fairness. It suggests that those who are truly corrupt will thrive, while the good will struggle. We now see the worst elements of society representing us, while the majority of us are wonderful, hardworking and compassionate individuals. Those we elect to represent us seem to embody the exact opposite. We must recognise that justice transcends our dysfunctional and incompetent judiciary. There is a clear distinction between right and wrong, and neither the sensationalist media nor corrupt politicians should be allowed to distort that truth. Ultimately, goodness prevails—that’s a fact. However, the fundamental issue in South Africa is that we, the citizens, have ceased to be the champions of fairness, justice and hope. Those who have fallen victim to the injustices of cancel culture often find, with the benefit of hindsight, that what initially felt like a tragedy ultimately served a greater purpose. This experience offers an opportunity for reflection, encourages introspection and helps individuals uncover a newfound sense of purpose in life that they may not have recognised before.  My ultimate message—one I promise has a point for those who have had the fortitude to read this far—is that what may have seemed like the worst moment of your life can actually turn out to be the best. I know it’s difficult to feel positive when facing public humiliation, but rest assured, it will lead to better outcomes in the end. This is not the end of your story. In fact, it is just the beginning and what awaits you is far better than you can ever imagine.

The South African President @CyrilRamaphosa should change his speech writer and get his facts correct before making fool of himself on an international stage. The ICJ did not say there is a plausible case of genocide!

@brianjomez I didn't say it isn't stupid. There are plenty more. Don't be selective in your outrage though. Women shouldn't vote.

@waveyboi9 Doesn't mean it isn't stupid. Most of the laws of this country make absolutely no sense. Just because we can find a Roman-Dutch Statute or a Crown decision from the early 1900s doesn't change that🤷🏾

That guy might sue for the 467 US dollars and be told that when he sent his shoes to be washed,he should entertained the thought that the shoe might be lost. On a balance of probability, ownership did not pass to the launderette. Akhongqondo Tu kule country.

Part of building in public is getting mass feedback immediately, which is pretty dope. Almost exactly like publishing a YouTube video First thing we're doing is fixing the excessive data disclosures, as people rightfully brought up. For transparency, we'd never actually ask for your location, internet history, etc. The data disclosures (that everyone is screenshotting) is likely too broad, and largely driven by what the ad networks suggest. Working to fix that ASAP. As far as pricing, I hear you! It's our own personal challenge to work to deliver that kind of value for the premium version. (Weekly Friday drops are already starting) I'll also be dialing back ad frequency for the free experience 👍🏾 Much more to come. I appreciate you all

@unapologeticiam @msu2_tkz @mckobola On the phone, you agree on one thing but on the actual contract signing with Finance, they give you a pen to just quickly sign for something else. That's when you should slow down and read, then start the drama.

1. How much will this cost? 2. Why change the name of a generic st name? 3. Why not choose an inspirational South African? 4. If you are going to do this surely a "successful" terrorist is a better option? @CityofJoburgZA
