MICROSOFT IS WATCHING CLAUDE GET BETTER EVERY MONTH AND COPILOT IS NOT KEEPING UP. And the people inside Microsoft know it. Here is the uncomfortable reality of the AI assistant war right now. Microsoft bet everything on OpenAI. $13 billion invested. Copilot embedded into every Microsoft product that 1.2 billion people use daily. Word. Excel. PowerPoint. Outlook. Teams. Windows. The distribution advantage is unmatched. But distribution without the best model is just a very expensive delivery system for a mediocre product. And the gap between what Claude can do and what Copilot can do is not narrowing. Claude reasons better on complex tasks. Claude follows multi-step instructions more reliably. Claude handles long context without degrading. Claude Code has no real equivalent in the Microsoft ecosystem. Microsoft has the pipes. Anthropic has the water. The question is whether pipes matter more than water when people can find other ways to get water. The builders and operators who have used both extensively are not switching back to Copilot. Not because they are loyal to Anthropic. Because the output quality difference is material enough to change how they work. Microsoft is not losing yet. But they are watching a competitor get meaningfully better every 90 days while their own model partner is fighting legal battles and burning through cash. A merger will win this race

In the next few days we'll be ramping up Claude inference on Colossus. Grateful to be partnering with SpaceX here. We are going to need to move a lot of atoms in order to keep up with AI demand, and there's nobody better at quickly moving atoms (on or off planet Earth)

It’s hard to understand what the other 39% are thinking. Once you drive a Tesla, it’s like driving an all-seeing sensor with a super computer behind the scenes doing all the decision making, driving and navigation. Also, you never have to go to a gas station.

@James_Willock @StevenBartlett With 30 yrs in IT, AI's efficiency & productivity gains are somewhere between 3-50%+ daily, role-dependent. Speed to results blows people away, but the key thing is companies must monitor use and scale output accordingly, or staff will just slack off with saved time.

This is all part of the current AI grift, which is a gift to content makers, fuelled by the AI leaders whose futures rely on pumping their share price. This is a problem with growth stocks over dividend stocks. Anyone that actually works in IT sees AI for what it is, and that's a new tool. Not the second coming of Jesus.
