Barely 25 minutes after takeoff from Lagos, the pilot calmly announced that we would be returning to Lagos. Returning ke? He cited "operational concerns" or something along that line. At that moment, nobody needed any further explanation. Everyone immediately began to call on whatever or whoever they believed in. It was also obvious from the way the aircraft took off that something wasn't quite right. I was genuinely scared, but I had to keep a brave face because I was seated between two women. Somebody had to look composed. Then my mind started racing. What would happen to my car? My money? My room? Deji & Tegbe would definitely turn my room upside down after few days. These guys have access to my cards too, they would finish my money before I even got to heaven. Thankfully, we landed safely back in Lagos. When another aircraft was brought in, some passengers simply refused to board again. Once bitten, twice shy. Eni ori yo o dile. Bobo no go die unless to ba darugbo. Not now. Not soon. By God's grace. 🙏🏽

When I told Professor Wole Soyinka that my knee surgery cost about 39 million and that I had about 10 million to pay the hospital, he said: “Let me get to Lagos this Friday and see what I can send.” I sent him the bank details of the hospital. By Monday, he messaged me: “Receivng no notification from you, I asked my bank for confirmation that the money has been sent. Forwarding separately the affirmation documents from the bank in case you need to track the funds. Bank document attached in case you need to track the remittance. I just wish to ensure it's landed in the right place.” When I reached out to the hospital, they confirmed they had received the complete money. What could I have done without him?

@egi_nupe Some of us are eternally grateful for help that came at a most critical time. There is an aunty that helped me moved from UBA to GTB in 2004/05. I saw her this year, she is now in the HOR, I still thanked her and told everyone in that gathering about how she helped me 22 yrs ago
