Here’s what he has already done: • Led the reconstruction of the damaged Engineering Gate bridge after heavy rains, solving a real safety issue. • Took student engagement beyond the main campus by visiting Obuasi Campus to listen, connect, and represent. • Engaged shuttle drivers to improve the Transport System and extend operating hours. Dear Affable Students of @KNUSTGH, As fellow students who walk the same paths, use the same routes, and face the same daily challenges on campus, I speak to you with sincerity and openness. Leadership, as many rightly say, is not about noise but rather it is about results. When the bridge around the SDA Church (Engineering Gate route) became dangerous and inaccessible, it wasn’t just a structure that was affected; it was our safety, our convenience, and our peace of mind. At that critical moment, I (OBENG KELVIN FOSU) did not wait for complaints to pile up. I did not shift blame or offer mere assurances. I stepped forward, mobilized support, and took action. Today, the bridge has been fixed. GOOD MORNING #KNUST THE WEEK AHEAD WILL BE WONDERFUL, GOD WILL SHAPE OUR PATH AND WE SHALL BE VICTORIOUS IN ALL OUR DEALINGS. ENJOY YOUR DAY. Earlier yesterday, I met with representatives of the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly, including the Works Department and Development Control Unit, together with the Assemblyman for the Ayeduase–Kotei Electoral Area and a municipal engineer, for a technical inspection of the damaged bridge area. Following a comprehensive site survey and assessment, feasible intervention options were analysed, and I have been granted approval and clearance to proceed with the construction of a temporary metallic bridge at the site to restore access. This intervention is being undertaken in collaboration with the relevant authorities, with safety and urgency as top priorities, while longer-term solutions are being pursued.
