@lucasbagnocvaz Have you done the math on Cursor's $60B exit? I wonder how it compares to OpenAI. Not totally disagreeing with your thesis, as indeed the math has gotten more challenging for seed funds, but I would have a hard time building a portfolio with only 15-20 companies given the risk.

@lucasbagnocvaz I also wonder if your hypothesis of multiple compression will hold true across all outcomes. AI will produce even bigger outcomes than before - will all of that upside be offset by higher entry values and dilution? Is OpenAI perhaps not representative esp given the MSFT round?

Just weeks ago, Lorne Michaels acknowledged that Harris appearing on SNL would violate the Equal Time law. But now the election is days away and Trump is ahead, so all the rules go out the window. NBC knows it won’t be punished since anything is allowed if it helps to stop Trump.
Michael Shellenberger@shellenberger

The producer of Saturday Night Live said neither Harris nor Trump would appear on the show "because of election laws." Last night, about 60 hours before polls open, he put Harris on the show in a warm & humanizing sketch. He and NBC violated the equal time provision of the law.

VP Harris’s Democratic Party would be unrecognizable to my father and uncle and I cannot reconcile it with my values. The Democratic Party of RFK and JFK was the party of civil liberties and free speech. VP Harris‘s is the party of censorship, lockdowns, and medical coercion. Kennedy Democrats were anti-war. Kamala‘s is riddled with neocon warmongers. The RFK/JFK dems were allies of Main Street, cops, firefighters, and working people. VP Harris’s is the Party of Big Tech, Big Pharma and Wall Street. My dad and uncle’s party was the champion of voting rights and fair elections. VP Harris’s is the party of lawfare, disenfranchisement, and the coronation of its candidates by corporate donors and party elites. I’ve used our nation’s courts to prosecute corporations who hurt Black Americans. VP Harris used our nation’s courts to mercilessly prosecute Black Americans and exploit them for their labor. My father and uncle prided themselves on their skills at debate and their ability to articulate a coherent vision for our country. VP Harris is scared to debate and can’t survive an unscripted interview. Instead of outlining a vision, she relies on middleschool tactics – memes, forged headlines, infantile slogans (Joy!) and name calling (“Republicans are weird.“) I’ve spent years battling government corruption and lies. VP Harris spent years gaslighting Americans about the health of our Commander in Chief. I have no plans to endorse Kamala Harris for President. I do have a plan to defeat her.

There is no greater indictment of the Biden-Harris economic record than the fact that Harris is trying to distance herself from Biden.

Rahul Vohra of Superhuman gave me a masterclass in personal branding the other day. I was supposed to interview him about Product Market Fit, and he came in more prepared than I was. He had super specific content and knew exactly what stories to tell when. The key? He was sharing content he had shared before; he focuses his personal brand message on a specific topic (“The Product-Market Fit Engine”) that he has put significant time and effort into preparing. Instead of doing tons of talks on different topics, @rahulvohra has perfected just one that he has used for years. Each time he gives it he can make it better and better. The focus and depth he is able to achieve is extremely high leverage. He has probably given that talk a hundred times and people STILL want to hear it. Crazy impressive. Find one thing. Do it really well. Great way to build a personal brand with minimal effort and maximum return.

It’s great JD is making himself available to the press — @Tim_Walz and @KamalaHarris need to start matching him (and Trump) on this issue.
David Sacks@DavidSacks

By my count, @JDVance submitted to 3 adversarial press interviews today, which is 3 more than Harris-Walz have done during the entire campaign. The MSM cooperates with this strategy. They see their job as electing Harris, not educating voters about what she would do as President.

@gaganbiyani So insightful, thx for sharing! I’ve also heard we’ve got some of the highest turnover on our force. I’m so on board with whatever we can do to solve these issues. I’m a 20 yr Oak resident with so much love for this city but we cannot continue to live the way we do.

I spent 10 hours in a "ride-along" with an OPD officer. By the end, my head was pounding. 5 shocking lessons about why it takes cops days to respond to 911 calls: - Rules prevent police from doing their job. e.g. There's a 19-factor (19!!) test for police to run through their head before they can chase a criminal. Most of the time, even if they see a crime, they will not chase the criminal. - Criminals know the rules. At one point, 3 cars sped past our fully marked police vehicle going 80+ mph on city streets. They even looped around and passed us a second time! Criminals know they'll get away with crimes such as burglary, car theft, and reckless driving. - Massive backlog of 911 calls. During my shift, there were 150-180 calls outstanding at any given time. The vast majority will be completely ignored or receive a response days later. - 80% paperwork. Ever seen an OPD car just parked on the side of the road? They aren't idle, but they are doing paperwork and only stop for the highest priority 911 calls. They spent 80% of the shift on their computers, often 1-2 hours of paperwork per incident (usually split across 4 officers). - Only 35 police officers on patrol at one time. On top of everything else, Oakland has one of the lowest police officer to crime ratio in the country. This is so self-inflicted. The people making the rules aren't cops, have no experience with law enforcement, and don't care about ensuring the police can do their jobs. If we vote in officials willing to focus on public safety, some things can change quickly. Other things (like increasing the # of officers) will take a long time. The full story and a link to Empower Oakland, a voter education org we started to help elect better public officials, is below.
