Im annoyed because this departure is for the wrong reasons, Egghead and his two pawns are the root of the biggest problems at Chelsea, obviously, the expenditure and players we see get minutes stares you in the face. I like Maresca in terms of that too, his handling of Reece James, he does have potential and did deserve backing with a centre half etc. That said regardless of whether we like the bed made, you cant refuse to sleep in it either, it really has been acts of self sabotage at this point and as a league season let alone year i cant pretend its not been subpar despite my gripes with the squad. Roman would have sacked him 4/5x over by now. The biggest issue is that these are only doing it due to speaking out rather than the footballing aspect. Looking at this year overall are we really going to pretend we should have amassed 12 less than Villa or be only a couple off Palace? Its a squad with holes and problems but there are some top players there and when they’re not putting it in for you against a horrrible form Bournemouth twice in a month, you’ve got trouble bigger than just recruitment.
