Well, I now understand slightly better just why it is that audio aficionados do not recommend Focusrite. The other week I installed their official drivers for my Scarlett 2i2 (2nd Gen) and it was somehow worse than the default driver that Windows gave it. Had weird issues.

I just lost over half an hour of auditions because my Focusrite Audio Interface decided it wanted to start crackling after years of having no issues it's genuinely never been more over. 🥀

@sonicbarber if you stumble on any ideas of WHY this makes computers freak out i’d be super curious. i can’t imagine marathon is doing anything with midi so maybe focusrite spaghetti?

@sonicbarber yo! myself and a couple friends with focusrite interfaces noticed that if we open marathon after having our DAWs open it hard crashes our desktops - is there anyway to pass this info along to the appropriate people? love love love the game

@WeAreFocusrite I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 that I need my usb a to c connector replaced. Because it needs to be short, I cannot find that works with my unit. Where do I get my replacement.

@WeAreFocusrite I do remember a time it gave a shrill sound when I had my headphones unplugged, so that’s not what I recently dealt with.

Does anyone have recommendations for better interfaces than Focusrite? I’ve been using one since 2022, and after 2 years or so, it sometimes would give strong mic feedback to the point of peaking, which has been difficult to properly clean up.

Everything I’ve heard about focusrite is true I guess and this thing crapped out on me after 7 fucking months The driver is just GONE And then I went and fucked it all up Oh and guess what? There’s crackling in Audacity now

I heard the crackles again so I uninstalled the drivers so I could reinstall them and see if that would fix it… now there’s a problem with the Asio driver so I can’t use it with Reaper and Focusrite Control 2 can’t connect with the interface What did I do wrong…

@Pirat_Nation Can someone at @WeAreFocusrite tell @Microsoft to please get their act together and fix their OS bug that crashes the 2i2 ASIO driver during sleep+hybrrnate mode? Have literally followed every suggestion on Focusrites Windows 11 troubleshooting page and nothing resolves this.

Microsoft is moving to 100% native apps for Windows 11. They are stepping away from web-based wrappers. A new team at Microsoft will rebuild apps using native tools like WinUI. Engineer Rudy Huyn is involved in this shift. Apps like File Explorer should launch quicker. The Start menu and context menus will feel more responsive.

any friends or moots that live in LA i'm donating this Focusrite 2i2 3rd gen w a broken USB C port (I couldn't find anyone to fix it nor I can fix myself) it served me well for 4 years, so its working perfectly besides this random broken port maybe someone wants it b4 I throw it away 😔

Bro, I’ve been genuinely working on this audio setup for MONTHS. If anybody has a lot of experience with FocusRite Audio mixers, please hit me up. I’m at a loss here
