@PostWither @Meta_Trap They frequently do when they are reproducing text from previously published, copyrighted material, which I think is a better comparison to sampling than just “inspiration”

@Meta_Trap I don't believe anyone should be able to touch you legally for sampling them regardless of financial means. I also don't care if you go out of your way to credit them. It's art. Do authors include pages in the back with every inspiration and allusion they pulled from?

@OfficialPenneth @ItsRainingBen Sure, it’s not truly *difficult* to find this information. But at a Broadway show it’s all handed to me on the way to my seat. In London I found myself having to take a photo of the cast board, buy a souvenir programme, and cross-reference the two.

@avasPALLADIUM No problem! Ages ago I was sold these seats as rush tickets for Mamma Mia and it was pretty surprising when we sat down. Luckily the mezz was half-empty and we could move over!

@svetlore They both started at the Public before transferring to Broadway. And tbh some of Suffs just sounds like Hamilton to me, idk.

Weird post. The typical LIRR (Long Island Railroad) worker isn't paying $5000 for a Manhattan apartment! He (or she) lives in LONG ISLAND! Usually Nassau County. There are reasonable prices in Hempstead, Freeport, Uniondale, etc. (I pay $2300 in Brooklyn, on Long Island.)
Kate Willett@katewillett

This yimby has been mad for days that blue collar workers at LIRR earn $200k. $200k is the amount needed to rent a $5k/month apartment, market rate for a 1 bed in Manhattan. I’m supposed to think train engineers deserve to live in the city less than Yimby’s do? Why?

Doesn’t seem to me the gays have been sucked into the gambling epidemic the rest of the male sex has over the last few years.

@LinkofSunshine @cranberryowo1 The original London version of the show had no such thing. I’m not intimately familiar with the 80’s Broadway version but I think you are mistaken about that too.

It's interesting when people aren't precise in their language, not in misspeaking, but in sprinkling around plausible but incorrect turns of phrase for the sake of meter. "Completely unprompted" here doesn't make any sense, but it wouldn't have that tweet rhythm without it

Lea Michele should’ve won a Tony back for Spring Awakening and the fact that that was 20 years ago and she still isn’t nominated is sad

@sammyjodj @ohmaryplayuk Of all the Marys I’ve seen, her performance is the least informed by Cole Escola’s IMO. She leans into the melodrama and plays the role like she’s Scarlett O’Hara, including a broad southern accent. So stupid and so funny.

@Ollie_Film @pugmane If putting that on the record meant releasing a major motion picture certain to reignite public discourse about the crimes he was accused of, I might think twice!

I’m sure the Jackson Estate can’t wait to make that sequel that deals with the less famous albums and the child molestation charges. They might even fast track it!

It would be so funny if Michael 2 actually happened but it was a courtroom drama that took the allegations extremely seriously

Deep down I just don’t believe there needed to be a SpongeBob musical. I don’t feel that the circumstances called for it.
