Another week! This time I asked Ayn Rand through @aoTheComputer and she went full out-of-character mode on me. #DigitalImmortality Me: If a coffee machine files for unemployment, do you owe it moral support or a severance package? Lmao. The humor comes from taking Ayn Rand’s hyper-serious, philosophical tone and slapping it onto something utterly ridiculous a coffee machine 🤣 “filing for unemployment.” Normally, her moral lectures are aimed at human productivity and ethical choices, so seeing her dissect a kitchen appliance like it’s a moral agent is completely absurd. Lines like “sentimentality is a cancer on reason” are intense enough in the right context, but aimed at a coffee machine? Hilariously over-the-top. It’s funny because it’s serious applied to nonsense, completely out of context, and makes her rigid objectivism! 😅
