Mind you, @WeConnectNPR gave up our 2021 contractual increase to help @NPR during challenging COVID times, but now that economic times are especially challenging, there's no reciprocation. It's a long-standing pattern of us giving & NPR taking, but it never goes the other way.

@NPR is my primary source for news, podcasts, and audio entertainment. Nothing they produce would be worth listening to without the hardworking people at @WeConnectNPR. So until they have a new, FAIR, contract for these amazing technicians and engineers, I won't be listening.

If the mission of public media is important to you, you should support the @WeConnectNPR audio engineers who are just trying to maintain their standard of living. There have been no better stewards of the money entrusted to @npr than its union workers.

Engineers are the reason why live broadcasts are possible at NPR.
They're the reason why my projects don't sometimes sound like a fuzzy mess.

It's not just DC. Our members live in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago- all locations of @NPR's choosing. And these are easily four of the most expensive places to live in all of America. We're not asking for the moon. We're asking for enough to keep up. @WeConnectNPR

Sending the engineers @WeConnectNPR all the well wishes. Hoping management invests in them...and also lets engineers train producers how to record cuz as someone who deals with LOTS of producers recordings...there's a lot they (and I!) don't know how to do.

The unit members of #WeConnectNPR do our absolute best to fix these types of things (even before they happen!). On @npr programming, you hear the work of HIGHLY skilled individuals putting their all in for a mission that we love.
