It requires driving over three hours and over a mountain pass to get from Bend to downtown Portland. Tell me District 5 was gerrymandered without telling me it was gerrymandered. And, guess who did it? You got it, Tina Kotek. It was one of her last acts of bullying and corruption before she resigned as Speaker and announced she was running for governor. .@GovTinaKotek .@TinaKotek

Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach. The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

Q: Mr. President, how long are you prepared to maintain the blockade? "The blockade is genius, okay. The blockade has been 100% foolproof ... Now, they have to cry uncle. That's all they have to do. Just say 'we give up.'" - President Trump (4/29/26)

.@MattMahanSJ has a proven track record of delivering real results. While others push higher taxes and more spending with nothing to show for it, he’s focused on safer communities, tackling homelessness, and making government actually work. California needs solutions, not more of the same.
