@tbhorka The article of faith that Texas would have beaten a different opponent is a little undone by how bad Arch was playing in the 1st half of the season. He was shit.

Texas firmly believes it missed the CFP last year because it played and lost to Ohio State in Week 1, completely glossing over an inexcusably bad loss to 4-8 Florida later in the year, so I'm not surprised the UT administration is mulling over whether or not to play Notre Dame.

Texas & Notre Dame scheduled to play home/home series in 2028-29, but UT AD Chris Del Conte wouldn’t fully commit the games would be played. “They’re ‘tentatively’ on the schedule right now,” Del Conte said

Texas AD Chris Del Conte on the upcoming series with Notre Dame: "They're tentatively on the schedule right now," per @InsideTexas. Not reassuring if you're an Irish fan who wants to face the Longhorns in 2028 and 2029. on3.com/teams/notre-da…

As reported in a @YahooSports story last week, the bill is expected to also codify portions of the House settlement, offer optionality to pool media rights and create an agent registry system. It is not expected to include the rigid anti-employment concept found in SCORE Act.

Sens. Maria Cantwell and Ted Cruz are expected this week to release a landmark bipartisan bill to regulate college sports, though the legislation is not finalized, sources tell @YahooSports. It would grant the NCAA a narrow antitrust exemption over transfers and eligibility.

In @nytopinion The four richest Californians paid 0.07% of their wealth in income tax from 2019 to 2025. A trailblazing tax on billionaire wealth could change that, write two economists who advised on the measure. nyti.ms/4fakpQb

UGA president Jere Morehead with some groundbreaking public comments on state of CFB, to reporters after athletic board meeting: "If we don't get federal legislation in my opinion, we're going to have do this conference by conference because we can't allow the wild west to continue any longer. I'm prepared next week in Destin to be ready to vote on creating an SEC mechanism, SEC rules that we have to do if Congress isn't going to be act as they should. We just cannot continue down this current path, We have waited months after months for congress to act and it hasn't occurred yet."
